Tarrytown House Estate

The grounds of hotel were stunning and the restaurant was excellent food staff and decor were amazing Would have liked a kettle in the room as I drink tea and there was only a coffee machine but staff were very helpful to provide me with tea

The location was great. Room was clean False advertising of the estate. The pictures look amazing but that’s really the main area. The rooms are in the older buildings, are old and outdated. Rooms are not fitting with the luxury looking main area. Everything poorly labeled (couldn’t find our room because the halls are mislabeled). No ice machines anywhere. No elevators so has to drag your luggage across the grounds and up several flights of stairs. Parking priority given to events and restaurant so has to park far away from the room. Often hard to find any parking spot. Too pricey for how mediocre of a hotel room and experience it actually was

No elevator directly from lobby or close to that takes you to your floor. Instead you get The Shining type maze down steps and through long hallways. I was certain we were going to turn a corner and see twins pedaling towards us on tricycles and knowing my legs would no longer have the strength to flee, I would have to surrender to my fate. There was a point I was disappointed I didn’t meet them. Not a hotel for travelers with significant luggage unless you love struggling through mazes that lead to nowhere. I’m sure had I been placed on the 5th floor (lobby level) my experience would have been better. Instead I was doomed to the 2nd. The room was decent. It was quiet. It was also very dark and secluded.

Beautiful estate, very polite staff, plenty of parking. Would like to go back and visit Lyndhurst mansion right across from it

Bar and staff were very nice. My only suggestion is to update the rooms. They are very dated. My carpet was ripped and shredding, the blinds got stuck, and TV connection was poor- I never got it to actually work. Breakfast Buffet is ok but expensive for what you get. It was cold as soon as I sat down. Based on the popular restaurant there I would have expected better. Perfect grounds for a true Fall experience!

Parking can be challenging and the hotel doesn’t have elevators so getting luggage to and from the room was a bit difficult. Otherwise the property is beautiful and the rooms are quaint.

Noisy well past midnight. Doors slam shut and walls so thin the person watching TV kept us up past 1AM.

When we finally did get to the room, it was dingy and outdated. Certainly an unwelcome sight for what we paid and went through to get there. In addition, there was some kind of event happening the night we checked in. I don’t know if that’s what made the parking impossible or if it was just a contributing factor, but we drove around for 40 minutes, circling each small and crowded lot and could not find a space to park. It was at that point we decided to find accommodations elsewhere and check out early from your establishment. We were both extremely saddened and irritated at the whole experience. I would deeply recommend that you improve your parking situation and make it clear on the website that not all of the buildings are easily accessible or ADA compliant.

Staff not friendly or helpful in the slightest. No elevators. Lots of stairs and hills. Parking nowhere near hotel rooms. Room was not cleaned properly. Cobwebs and dust everywhere. Sheets had slight stains. Bed was not comfortable. Mini fridge constantly leaking water everywhere. I did not feel welcome here and would not recommend staying here to anyone else.

We have stayed here twice. However in different buildings. The grounds are gorgeous and well manicured with enormous mature trees and annual plantings on hillsides. We stayed in the Kings building where the restaurant Goose Feathers is located. Yes the building is historic however the bathrooms definitely need renovation. Very old, the hallway rugs need to be changed with lighter more contemporary tones. Staff are very nice.

The grounds are pretty. We went for a wedding and stayed for 2 nights. The a/c was broken in our room and one of the windows didn’t open. They “fixed” the a/c to barely cool. Our room wasn’t cleaned because we came back to the room mid afternoon and they hadn’t made it to us yet. The Keurig machine looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a decade. There are also tons of stairs and the place is a maze. Having said all that, the wedding reception was wonderful. The food was great and the wedding staff was very attentive.

The room was clean and the staff were nice. However the bathroom light did not work.

Disappointing

One of the most disappointing establishments I’ve ever visited Not clean, the smell, the overall experience.

What a wonderful stay. I intend to be back monthly, as I enjoyed it so much. Great price point. Spacious rooms. Privacy. Jake in Sales was a dream. Treated me with so much kindness and respect.
