Super 8 by Wyndham Traverse City

The cove base was peeling off, the air conditioner fan had a loud rattling and the bathroom was not cleaned. The toilet had urine stains and there was only a third of a roll of toilet paper left with no spare. For the $750 for the three nights, it was the worst money ever spent.

It is an older property, but nicely kept. The room is spacious and clean. The staff is extremely courteous and polite.

Don’t be fooled by the thin gloss applied to a smelly old cheap motel that has aimed to present as a clean and modern place by way of the pictures and thin coat of paint applied. Sink was loose from the wall, smell of smoke, hard horrible cheap beds which the staff did not make and the crappy old ac unit. This place would reasonable at $50/night as a late night crash pad but nothing more.

The place was pretty clean and staff was very helpful.

Very nice, clean property. Great value. The staff was excellent. We had a small issue with our door lock at check-in. My husband walked over to the office and someone walked back with him and fixed the issue within minutes. Breakfast until 10a was really nice, for those of us who are vacation travelers.

This was not up to Super 8 quality. We should not have to empty our own trash. We should not have to figure out where to hang towels without towel bars when they don't enter your room

Breakfast

Breakfast supplies were reasonable but not amazing. They didn’t have salt for breakfast- and didn’t seem concerned about lack of salt shakers (they had two pepper shakers - but a trip to dollar store to buy salt seemed in order). Saw another guest complaining that their bathroom lacked a shower curtain. Front desk couldn’t point to hotel location on tourist map for me so that I could get my bearings - thank goodness for phone map!

Close to Traverse City Clean properly

Excellent value and right in the middle of everything. Complimentary breakfast bar. Staff is super friendly. The TVs are pretty basic and you have to flip through channels one by one. The shower curtain was too small and let water onto the floor.

Not much. It’s way overpriced for what we got. Also there was no shower curtain in the shower, no soap or shampoo. Breakfast was Cold dollar store items. Or a joke for 278 bucks.

The location was fine. The hotel does not resemble the photos on their website. See the photo below. The first room was dirty (litter on floor) and unmade. The manager did not believe me and checked it. Then they gave us a room next door. It had hair etc. on the carpet, did not have good lighting, and smelled a bit musty. There were no towel racks in the bathroom or the vanity area. It only had a sheet and light bedspread (it was chilly, raining/hailing) so I went back to manager and asked for blanket, which he was was in a cubby under the TV. This time I brought a photo to how him that there was no blanket. We also said the fitted sheet in the new room was a queen and did not fit the king size bed and he argued with us about that. We had him check and he admitted it was incorrect and replaced it. I also told him that the smoke detector was disconnected and dangling from the curtain rod. The next morning at 10:00 a.m. a knock on the door was from a repairman and I asked them to take care of it after we stepped out for the day. Supposedly there is a complimentary breakfast but we did not feel comfortable with the sanitation there. Also, the wifi was only 6.16 mg/second which did not work for my remote desktop but was okay for internet browsing. The manager said it depends on the time of day. It increased to 150 mg/sec when the other rooms were empty during the day.

Decent breakfast Didn’t use the pool but there’s one Rooms are remodeled or up to date with most Only issue was room 104 had a toilet pull Chain failure

We rented it for our guests so I didn’t see it must.

Very quite and the beds are so comfy.

I wish the coffee was real instead of instant. It was fine otherwise.

Location was convenient and close to down town TC No wash cloths, bugs in room, broken toilet, broken bathtub, bathroom fan was obnoxiously loud, and the room did not look or feel clean and had a smell of wet dog.

It was a bed to sleep in Rooms were dirty. Not vacuumed. Counters and sink was dirty with hair. Toilet was not clean at all. Hair all over bathroom floors. Both rooms were dirty. The first was they had me in was bad. I complained and they gave me a little cleaner room that was not much better. I cleaned the room myself.

Parking was easy, staff was helpful, room was quiet

Very affordable stay in a convenient busy area of traverse city. Not luxurious but definitely was a comfortable bed! Quiet although on a busy road. WiFi was super slow. Staff was very willing to help in any way we asked. Shower curtain was super sour smelling. I wouldn’t want to pay more but it was worth the money for our stay while we worked in Suttons bay as contractors for a few days. Pool was crystal clear but the weather was too cool to use it. Thank you for our nice stay!!
