Comfort Inn & Suites Ventura Beach

I booked a room last minute for my boyfriend because he lost his phone and it looked like he might have to stay the night. Shortly after placing the reservation, he found his phone. So I tried to cancel the reservation online. It wouldn’t work because the reservation was still “in process”. I called Hotels.com and was out on hold for quite a while waiting for the agent to figure things out. She was not able to help us. We went to the hotel, and they would not cancel the reservation and refund us. So my boyfriend told the front desk he would come back later and stay the night. When he returned late that night, the front desk could not find his reservation and said there were no rooms left! His credit card already showed a pending charge. Then this morning I got an email from Hotels.com saying they were not able to waive the charge. So he paid for a night but was not given a room! He had to drive home very late at night. Just now I received an email from Hotels.com asking me to rate the stay. There was no stay! Only a charge that neither the hotel or Hotels.com will refund. Horrible experience!!!

The staff was very good. A guest checked in hiding a dog which I heard in my room so I had to change rooms. Direct TV programs run in a loop, no change of episodes. Only traditional over the air programs changed, e.g. the news.

I have a bad experience with the staff because I call them before for check in early and they say okay when I arrive for early check in they say they never tell me anything

Breakfast was great , location was perfect for us . The lady at the front when we checked in was simply amazing . Every staff member we encountered was very nice and welcoming . Upon check in everything was explained in detail and I loved one way in one way out of the hotel .

The room appeared to be clean but smelled awful. I got hit with a strong smell right when I entered the room. I'm not sure what it was, maybe a combination of huge amounts of industrial cleaner mixed with general mustiness?? But it was overwhelming. I spoke with someone at the front desk. They were very nice and moved me to another room. The second room also smelled terrible, but a little less so. I had to buy air fresheners to make the room tolerable. I stayed for one night. Cannot recommend.

Very nice and gracious staff! Comfortable bed with a variety pillow choices. Great breakfast. Freeway sound and view.

I slept well in here hotel after flying from Australia. Cool how close it is to In N Out!

Just lobby is clean and new Very noisy, during the night I woke up at least 15 times, walls are too thin and upstairs doors are heavy, not only me, but also all of our family members woke up because of the noise. Carpets are terrible dirty in rooms, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper and soap is the worst quality in the world.

Overpriced. Collusion. Stay away.

Clean, comfortable and staff was friendly. Two blocks from the beach! The location is Convenient - just off the freeway, but not loud. Will be staying again when I return to Oxnard the area.

Location close to channel islands ferry Not enough area to charge phones and camera batteries. Couldn't figure out the air cooling system

Service was excellent. Food was good and varied The beds were too high for me I had to launch myself on to the bed. And being elders it would be nice if there was a stuffed chair in the room
