The staff was very friendly and helpful. We got a non-smoking room, but upon entering there was a musty smell like someone had smoked in the room. We had to open the windows, which only helped a little. There is no a/c, but they did provide a tower fan. The motel is very close to the beach and allows pets so that's a definite plus. Lots of eateries in the area. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

There were no Washcloths or body soap. The whirlpool tub had no plug for the drain or controls for the jets. In other words it didn't work. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was responsive, but we won’t be staying there again.

Location, Location, Location

The place is in a great location. Room was old and needed repairs. A bathtub wit spa bit not hooked up… looked like they just found a tub. Not fire alarm.. missing. Towel holder broken off. No plates, cups, ect for a studio

Cute little place for overnight trip to Ventura. Beach access right down the street. Great little restaurants near by too.

The rooms are clean and just a little dated. This is an older place but well maintained. The rooms are airy. We did have an issue with the door lock, but the staff was on it and when it couldn't be fixed, another room was made available. There are four resterants within walking distance. I would stay here again.

Nice location I loved the property
-
The property was dirty, rundown, and the showers were filthy. Found pieces of glass in the bed. The floors had sand and like a wax coating over the tile. Any metal in the room was rusted out. The balcony that was attached to our room was unsafe and also the metal was all rusty. The staff was rude unfriendly. There was nothing nice about this property, except for the location being so close to the beach other than that this facility should be knocked down and rebuilt.

Problems started the minute we arrived. Parking is inadequate for the amount of rooms they have. Jenn at the front desk mishandled the previous customer and left their charge on the system so she then proceeded to charge us over $300 when we had already paid I showed her our receipt. She wanted to charge us an extra $40 resort fee per night even though on our receipt from hotels.com it shows each fee we paid beforehand. Our room was described as a small apartment which was nothing more than a failed floor plan. Sinks and toilets were not serviceable and a simple cinder block was holding up the ceiling off of a pony wall in the bathroom our children were supposed to use. We decided to have them only use our bathroom where the toilet ran all night. The television was missing in the main room. We were promised it repeatedly. She finally had one and had my teenager carry it to our room and said someone would be there shortly to hang it. The cord was wrong. They gave us another it was also wrong. They said they were going to fix it at 9pm. They never arrived. We ended up buying cards to play cards games in the room. She constantly tried to gain access to repair things (tv, toilet) but never showed up. The one star is for the location. We paid about $360 dollars for 2 nights because I didn’t want to stay at the motel 6 and now I’m thinking we should have.

The staff did a fantastic job! Lots of food options within walking distance. The beach was within walking distance.

Great place. Super nice staff was very helpful and the room had a big jetted tub. I liked the little street with access to the beach and a close walk to Santa BuenaVentura state park. Will return. It’s especially a great spot if you run the MTB marathon or Ventura marathons.

Its been over a week and a been trying to get a hold on them regarding my deposit. But can't get anyone on the phone.

Also they say they are pet friendly but charge 25 dollars per dog per night !! 2 dog maximum. I also tried to stay there after this visit. The owner and older lady not deans was really rude and even though deana didn't charge me a pet deposit . She said it was mandatory. Then told me that the housekeeper left a not that we left our room messy which I never leave anything I even take out my own trash . So I stayed somewhere else. Overall it's nice but the fees and misrepresation of being pet friendly 25 dollars id ridiculous

Had everything I needed and was clean. Room under the stairs was noisy.
-
Room was the smallest I've ever seen in almost 60yrs and obviously not improved in 30-40 yrs, and I'm a builder. There is nothing good i can say about the room. Everything, except closeness to the beach.
-
I liked the room and how close it was to the beach and restaurants. My room had no view, but that was okay. I wish the floors had been cleaner. My feet became pretty dirty when I was barefoot in the room.

Don’t stay here
-
Block away from the beach eazy walk past all the other hotels i should have stayed at

If you book through Expedia, the front desk staff will charge you an additional $56 dollar fee for “costs not covered by Expedia.” Since you’re traveling, you’re stuck paying the fee, unless you wanna risk not being able to find another place. Then we got a room that didn’t have the spa even though we booked it. We also got a dirty room. 3 out of the 5 windows have either no screen or a broken screen that lets flies into your room. Oh and there’s no shampoo or body soap, so you should bring your own. Would not recommend.

We did not eat breakfast there. It would have been great if booking.com didn’t show beach houses on the sand. Then when you get there you are in a motel 3 blocks from the beach. Extremely disappointed that you show to different places - owned by the same place. My husband and I are seniors and we can’t walk for long periods at a time. That’s why the location on the beach was perfect, until we realized it wasn’t. Thanks booking.com for ruining our 40th Anniversary!!! We left 2 days early also because of car troubles.
