Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach North Beach by IHG

We love this property because it’s prime location. On the quiet end of the beach very convenient. The shuttle is right outside as is 7/11 and the rest is within a few block walk. The pools here are the best we spend our days hopping from one pool to the beach to another’s it’s nice they have a kids room and a movie room the restaurants aren’t very good but they are convenient and there’s a few options. The staff could be friendlier no one says hello or anything. The ice machine on our floor was broken and the vending was missing. The elevators are very slow. The place needs a serious remodel it’s very run down and there’s quite a lot of water damage and even some mold in our room. The views are the best part! Dolphins outside the patio every morning! Very affordable. Beds are hard but the air worked well the pillows are comfy the tv worked well lots of channel options nice size fridge Dunkin in walking distance. Quite rooms we slept great.

Kid-friendly

Pretty good hotel. Although I can smell mold in our first floor room and then I actually saw the mold on the mattress cover too. Other than that, the hotel was clean. Parking is tight and lucky to find parking space on busy holiday weekend, but was located right across the street, so it's convenient enough and they have overflow parking areas if needed. Front desk and staff were really friendly and helpful. I like that they had a movie theater room. Didn't like that the breakfast restaurant closes at 10am, for us late risers, we never got a chance to eat there. Pool was nice and clean with a slide. Plenty of pillows, but mattress may be a bit too soft for my back. I like the layout of my suite. I wish the fridge had a freezer compartment. There was only one ice machine on the first floor and it was WAAAAAY across the hotel from our room.

There were often no towels available, the sheets were not changed daily, and the breakfast was disappointing with very limited options. Our door lock was also not working and needed to be fixed. Instead of simply repairing it, they moved us to another room, which created extra work and took additional time. On the day we checked out, I asked if they could extend our checkout by just two hours, but they refused. Considering the issues we experienced during our stay, I felt they could have treated us better and shown more flexibility as a customer. Overall, I would rate the property 3.5/5. It’s a good option for families with children, but there is definitely room for improvement when it comes to cleanliness, service, and overall guest experience.

This hotel was nice the oceanfront view breath taking. The 3 pools were great. The elevators were slow and hallway have no a/c and neither the inside of the elevator very uncomfortable. The air conditioning in the rooms are very noisy I asked a couple of people while waiting for the slow elevator if they had the same problem they said. Other than that it’s a great hotel very friendly staff great amenities they even have a theatre room the shows movies and give popcorn

Would have been nice to have covered parking area. Property itself is dated.

It was a very nice friendly staffed place for me and my 2 kids under 3 to stay for a couple days!

The DJ at the pool was playing music at an extremely high, potentially hearing damaging volume. The speaker was positioned directly next to the door, and the bass was so intense that I experienced ear pain. This was far beyond simply being “loud music.” The sound level raised serious concerns about potential hearing damage, especially for children. We asked the DJ to turn it down because the volume was overwhelming my child with autism and causing escalating behaviors. We were told no and were instead told to use another pool. We were not asking for the music to be turned off, only reduced to a reasonable level. The North end of the Virginia Beach Boardwalk is promoted as a family environment. The pool that day felt much more like a nightclub than a family hotel. A DJ is fine, but music should never be played at a level that is physically painful or potentially damaging to guests’ hearing. Our other disappointment was the room “upgrade.” We specifically wanted a suite with a sink in the kitchenette and a kitchen table and chairs. Although the decor was newer, the room did not have the features we wanted. There was no kitchen table or chairs, no additional sink, we had to walk through the bathroom to get between the rooms, and we only had one balcony compared with the two balconies in our room the previous year.

Nice stay with my family, staff was pleasent. Drove for six hours and staff gave us two hours before are our check in.

There is a loud noise coming from the A/C in the room, mold around the pool, and leaves and bugs in the pool.

The location of this hotel is great and we liked having the indoor and outdoor pool options since we were traveling with a baby. But, the room they put us in (even though we asked for a crib) was directly in front of the speakers for the pool and played music all day long. They also never brought linens for the crib and the room itself had some issues - the shower door was loose/falling off, the sink would fill with water and not drain within moments of turning it on, and they never came to clean the room while we were there for 3 days. Also, there were never any clean towels at the pools though there was a location for them. We went early in the morning right when the pool opened and the towel laundry was completely full with no clean towels and we went in the later afternoon and it was the same. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again despite the location and pools.

The pools were very nice my son absolutely loves them the rooms were very clean on arrival some water damage tho but nothing dire beautiful view from our balcony nothing to really complain about

Nice beach front view, the hotel was hot walking through (no a/c). The staff was the least helpful. I was supposed to be charged $40 per/night , & $10 per/night for hotel fees & parking — which sums up to $80. The next morning I looked at my bank account and seen that $332.55 was taking off my card. I went to speak with guest services and they told me it would be sent express when I check out. It’s a day after I checked out & I still don’t see anything. It’s hard with getting in contact with someone here in regards to this matter & I do not stay close to here. I’m really pissed off about this experience !

what a wonderful place for a family vacation with young kids! 10/10 recommend!!

The four pools plus hot tub, the room was clean, loved the beach view and the easy walk to the beach. The staff were wonderful, cheerful and very helpful.
