Location Old, ran down

False advertisement, there is no pool as shown, the room is old and outdated, the sheets and towels had stains. I will never book the The Sun and Sand Resort Oceanfront Virginia Beach Va again.

The location was wonderful. Walking distance to a lot of good places to eat and see. The desk people were very nice and friendly. The elevator was fast. The pictures online were deceiving. The hotel was run down. The way they fixed things in the rooms were awful. Couch more like a love seat was very uncomfortable and the beds were more like a full size and not queens. Woke up on the last day with no water on the higher floor. They gave us a room that was checked out of that was still dirty from prior guests to shower in and be able to use the toilet before we left.

We had a beautiful view of the ocean. You can see dolphins swimming by. The beds are doubles, not queen which makes it hard to fit 2 in each bed. Pull out bed was very uncomfortable with a warn out mattress. There were ants in the room. My aunt fell in their parking lot area that goes into hotel. The ramp is not marked and only 1 step with watch step" that was dirty. My aunt does have vision loss so yellow lines would have helped. We told the front desk lady and she didn't have compassion, she went directly to defending/blaming. We just wanted them to be aware so they could paint the edges.

It was very clean just need to update furniture and TVs

This place is nasty

It's an older hotel. Trash in parking deck and property. They don't send the staff to check rooms. I didn't expect anything different since its a 2 star hotel.

Exceptional

Could be cleaner, balcony door hard to open, need ice on every floor, kinda run down.

Bad

Room was in a good location to the pier which is mostly why we stay there. As we do a lot of fishing. On our first night staying woke up to the floor wet not sure if it was from the humidity or confiscation bc we slept with the air off but had to take a towel and dry it up. House keeping never came and got our garbage or our dirty towels and never brought us more coffee they never actually came into the room while we were there. Parking was a headache because I drive a lifted truck and could barely get in or out and definitely wasn’t trying to leave because the top garage was packed

Room isnt clean. The couch smells, the spare blanket didn't look and smell clean. We got a non smoking room, but when we were at the balcony, out neighbor was smoking weed. Couldn't really enjoy hanging out because of the smell. The tv, microwave and refrigerator are old. Small parking spaces and pool was closed. Not worth to spend almost $300/night for this kind of hotel.

We stayed 18-20 and I'm glad it was only 2 short nights. Parking is horrible, hotel was not as clean, pool terrible NOBODY GOT IT, sink water would not cut off, and our peep hole was covered from inside which was weird! Other than that, great ocean views, quite and close to everything. If you stay here, bring your own everything. Including bedding.

I pre-booked, pd the non-refundable fee MONTHS in advance for myself & my 2 kids. We C/I later than planned, even w/ID, I was asked for a debit card +$100/refundable deposit. Not sure this is normal, my debit card had been compromised 1 day prior, my temp card didn't bear my name. That's the reason I was given I had to provide a deposit. I had to walk after 8pm to 7 Eleven due to ATM in lobby being Out of service. Our rm setup was better than expected, 2 dbl beds in a bdrm & a pull out couch. The arm chair in the living area was wet when we arrived as if it had been sprayed w/something. There were plenty of bath linens for our stay, I love coffee & there was only 1 pk of dry creamer provided. Water pressure was slightly low but that may be common in high rises. We had a balcony which for me is a must, you pay for the view & we were able to watch the sunrise directly from our rm. The bdrm had a window which looked into the hallway, the blinds were closed but alot of light came through. There was ALOT of noise in the hallway at all hrs of the night, making it difficult to get any sleep. My only complaint was everywhere you went, MJ was in the air, on OUR balcony, in the hallway, on the boardwalk, in the elevator. I know it's legal, I don't really care, was just a bit much. We honestly C/O early for that reason & the noise level w/in the bldg because you can't get any sleep. I lost money on that decision, but I was ok with that. Overall, we enjoyed our 1 day there.

Cleanliness was a main concern.

Dirty blankets on the bed. Old Furniture.Shower faucets broken. 2 inch gap between floor and room door to hallway. Door deadbolt broken.

Poor old furnitures and beds, the sin k counter top was crack. The television in the living room control did not work.small refrigerator freezer haha moldy ice. The bathroom tub was very sleepy not suitable for elderly person. Crack wall. I can keep going on….
