Everything about our stay was fantastic.

Arrived to check in and there was one person at the “check in desk”, not very helpful. It was pretty much self service with not much help. I asked about checking out an hour later than the 11am checkout the next day, they said it would cost me $67 to do that, I declined. We got there early for an event we were attending in the city so we could eat dinner at the hotel before we left. The bartender informed us that the kitchen was closed and the ovens were not working because they had left them on too long, so we were unable to eat dinner there. There were only a total of 3 employees running the entire place between the restaurant and the the “check in” desk. We went up to our room for the first time and walked into a room so small and narrow. It was smaller than a master bedroom closet in a nice house. I have stayed in larger quarters in the basement of a cruise ship. The bed was against the window, so one could not stand up and look out of the window and when I had to get up to use the restroom, I had to crawl over my wife in the bed to get out. The pictures of the room for the online advertising were completely misleading. We spoke wit several other guests that we met at the hotel and they all had the same experience and felt the same. I am a Marriott rewards member and I have never had a more disappointing experience at a hotel. I will be using my Hilton Rewards in the future. I will never go back to the citizenM Marriott.

My daughter and I recently stayed at citizenM Washington DC Capitol for Faouzia's film noir tour, and it was the perfect base for our trip. We easily walked to and from Union Stage to our hotel which has a vibrant, trendy atmosphere and modern art that fit right into our cinematic weekend theme. The rooms are compact but highly efficient. We loved using the room's iPad to customize the lighting to create our own moody, atmospheric film settings after a long day of touring. The XL king bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean. The location is excellent—safe, highly walkable, and close to major transit options, which made getting to our tour stops seamless.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was worth the little extra. The property was very clean and the decor was eclectic in the best way.

My teen was impressed with the “vibes and art”

I told the staff day after day the A/c didn’t work. The first night they moved me to another room and the A / C barely worked. So they brought me a fan that I had to use for the rest of the stay to sleep. About 4 hours a night. I was told they couldn’t do anything and the manager would follow up and nothing!!!! I slept on top of the bed in a pool of sweat and don’t get me started about the T v , when I asked for help to get the TV to work from the front desk she said she was coming to my room with security! Really, can’t fix a problem threatening a guest is the solution I quess . I truly don’t know why I w writing this review as I would never consider staying at a M hotel or Marriott even though this is my fy truly bad experience in over 50 stays! I would have regretted not get my My Marriott reward points, but that’s going to be a hard pass for me . Good fellow travelers and heed my warning or suffer the consequences like me 😉

I live the full deep clean I requested. I was there for 8 days and they had no problem doing a deep clean new sheets etc.

Stay.

Very nice hotel. Walking distance to almost everything. Rooms are small but super nice. Not good for families with kids. I only wish there was coffee in the rooms!
-
Extremely clean room. Breakfast was very good. Air conditioning stops at 66 F and although the air ventilation is great, a small fan would have been nice for air flow. Extremely quiet top floor. High tech features were entertaining and comfortable.

We absolutely loved this hotel! It is clean, decorated well and just a whole vibe! We were a quick 5 minute walk from the Bible museum, a 10 minute walk to the wharf which has tons of resteraunts and things to see and a 6 minute cab ride from union station. They have a great breakfast buffet (a little pricey but worth it) a bar that’s open and also serves delicious snacks to hang out and chill! The rooms are a very contemporary IKEA style vibe and everything is controlled off of an iPad in the room which is super cool 😎 We had a great experience and look forward to coming back!!

Compact, modern, and streamlined. Everything you could need all wrapped up in a small luxurious package.

Hotel had a modern stream lined experience. Though the room was smaller than normal, it was perfect because it offered modern amenities at an affordable price. It was also, a perfect sized space for needing a comfortable space to rest our heads after exploring DC all day.

Very happy with entire stay

Room was modern and clean, staff were friendly and helpful, easy check in, water refill station available by the bar and lots of space to relax in the upbeat and vibrant common areas. There was a garage right next door to the hotel also which I didn’t use but will keep in mind for next time.

Excellent

Hotel was fine. Room was really small and a little too modern for our taste. It was very similar to a room on a cruise ship. But it was ok for our stay. Think a younger crowd would enjoy it more.

I love this hotel! It’s funky and not your usual corporate cookie-cutter hotel. The rooms are tiny, but just what I needed: clean, quiet, a comfortable bed and a hot shower. I love their eco-conscious mission. I’ll definitely seek out Citizen M hotels when I travel!
