Hotel Hive

We had a wonderful time. Staff was very friendly, the room was a bit small but very comfortable. The main reason for writing this review is that in evening while having drinks, we saw a mouse in the lounge area. Also, when we left early the next morning, we saw mice near the kitchen area. We told the staff, and they were understanding and acknowledged the issue, however for the price each night, there should be no mice on the premises.

Front desk was amazingly helpful. We had mixed up our dates and missed check in. They explained the situation to us and helped us rebook, and even gave us a refund on our first night that we missed. We had booked through Expedia, so hotel staff was quick to liaise with Expedia to help us get our refund. Everyone was just so pleasant and nice

Clean, convenient, and safe location! Brian at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived. We asked for extra towels and an ice bucket, which were brought to our room right away. The building was very quiet, and it was just enough space for 2 people. The pizza shop and cafe on site was great and we didn’t have to go far for food. Already plan to book another stay for an event in Sept!

Great staff, easy communication, great location and did the job for me.

We absolutely loved this hotel! Had everything we needed and was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. 100 % worth it! We were kind of concerned the room would be REALLY tiny, but they were honestly perfect.

No after hours places to eat but you can always get Uber Eats

Booker beware - the lower level rooms are in the basement. It’s dark and damp. The shower curtains are hardly effective and the sheets always feel damp. My husband killed 4 large centipedes. My daughter and I paid for an upgrade and stayed in the 5th floor. Our room was bright but I also killed a few large centipedes. If you want housekeeping you must book it the day before. The front staff are very friendly and the pizza shop is also very good.

One of the standout features of Hotel Hive is its honeycomb theme very subtle, yet noticeable honeycomb motifs are incorporated throughout the hotel, creating a unique and charming atmosphere. Additionally, there’s a pizza shop within the hotel, and the hotel itself is in the shape of a pizza. The views from the rooftop are simply breathtaking. You can see the Lincoln Memorial down one road and the White House down another. It’s a sight to behold. The cleanliness of Hotel Hive is exceptional. I’ve never seen a cleaner hotel. The location is also fantastic. You can walk to all of the main attractions in Washington from this hotel, or if you prefer, there are plenty of electric bikes and scooters available right outside the front door. There’s also an amazing bar right on the property. I can’t say enough great things about Hotel Hive. My stay was only overnight, but I’m already planning a return trip to Washington, DC. I’m staying at Hotel Hive again and I’m bringing some friends this time.

Wonderful stay! The staff were so nice and accommodating when our flight got canceled and needed to check in the following morning.

Hive is modern and beautiful. The attached pizza shop is delicious. The only concern i had with my stay was the dampness. My room was on the lower floor - the basement, basically. Everything had a very slight wetness to it. The hallway and each room should be equipped with a dehumidifier. Or, the owner should find other abatement measures before mold begins destroying this lovely hotel.

My only complain is that the sink is so tiny. There is no place to put toiletries. Great for a solo traveler.

Clean but our room had some ants and we were below the pizza place and the noise was awful.

I really liked this hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The bar with the pizza was really tasty! The hotel is also is a very safe location near the GWU campus and about 15 minutes from Georgetown. Its also a couple blocks from the metro station. Now it is a micro hotel, so the rooms a very, very small. I was by myself so I was fine, but I could not imagine sharing the room with someone else. I was in DC for a week for a teacher conference so I had a big suitcase and I didnt have much room for my stuff but I dont really unpack my clothes anyways so that is ok. The one downside, which is Why I didnt give a 5 on everything is the room does not have a fridge. I do think a mini fridge could fit in the room, maybe under the little desk, or get rid of the safe and make that a mini fridge. I talked to other guests who were disappointed about that as well. But overall, it was a great stay.

Front desk staff is ALWAYS courteous and helpful. The Cinnamon Dippers at the bar are to die for, LOL. Rooms may not be spacious but they’re clean and the bed and pillows are comfortable. Not to mention Hotel Hive is usually the best deal around. Highly recommend!
