When requesting a high room ask to be above the 4th floor. Construction right below us was an eyesore and noisy!
-
Restaurant food overpriced for what it is.

All of these issues are relatively minor and I’d excuse them if we were staying at, say, a Marriott three star hotel. But Watergate advertises itself as a five star hotel, and our experience fell far short of five star service and the accompanying cost. If I’m booking a five star establishment, I expect attention to detail on the part of the hotel. Do better, Watergate. I know you can.

Rooftop bar needs a better selection of alcohol

This place was like going back to modern 1960’s vibe yet updated where needed. We loved it!! Def coming back. The staff’s availability and kindness were refreshing (and very appreciated!!). We highly recommend staying here.

The staff were excellent, location was perfect and the history is timeless!
-
Communication between front desk staff and restaurant staff regarding roof top bar closure due to weather was frustrating.
-
Beyond our expectation. Love it.

The room was clean, the staff were friendly

I was expecting rooftop with better music, the bar downstairs was closed. I was expecting a balcony towards the water or monument and it was not provided. I will not go back.

The hotel and rooms were beautiful.

My sheets & large towels were stained and had lipstick on them. The counters were dirty and the air conditioner was locked and the spot was not flowing properly until the 2nd night i was there

We paid for a room upgrade but was not impressed, it was ok
-
Asked for room with river view and balcony but was given floor 2 which is so close to the road that it's hardly a river view

The bathroom lacked adequate ventilation, causing humidity to build up after showering, and the bathroom door was unusually heavy and difficult to close. The most significant concern was the hotel's entrance and pickup area. The entrance can be very confusing for guests, as the sliding doors facing the main street appear to be the primary entrance, when the actual entrance is located elsewhere. There is little to no clear signage directing guests, which led to frequent confusion. While waiting for rideshare pickups near the main street, I found myself redirecting several people to the correct entrance because they were unsure where to go. Additionally, the roundabout serving as the main entrance often became heavily congested with valet traffic, guest vehicles, and rideshare pickups. My partner and I eventually learned that it was faster to walk to the main street and wait on the sidewalk for our Uber rather than use the designated pickup area, as doing so helped us avoid significant delays. While the property is visually impressive and the location is convenient, the ongoing issues with accessibility, wayfinding, and transportation logistics significantly impacted our experience. Unfortunately, based on this stay, I do not anticipate returning in the future.
