The WiFi was really bad, the hotel feels really dated and the ac is very loud. The staff is very nice. Very hard beds.

Depending upon the purpose of your stay, the hotel might meet your needs. I had a medical appointment and wanted to be close to the office. I lived in the DC region for 17 years so I thought I would have no problem navigating the area. Unfortunately, the trip was frustrating and after driving through heavy rain, I checked in at 10 PM. When I arrived, they said their parking garage was full and led me to a garage in a dark and desolate ally that was hard to find. Luckily, I was safe but didn’t get to my room until midnight. Typical to many downtown DC hotels, breakfast cost extra and they had no snack machines or mini stores in the lobby. The room also had no refrigerator or microwave. That said, the hotel was clean and safe. If you’re going to visit GWU and don’t have a car, this might work for you. Just budget for meals and bring snacks (non-perishable) for midnight munchies.

Room was spacious and very clean

It was not a bad hotel. I did expect a little bit more though.

There are just a couple of things that would have been helpful to know before arriving. First, the hotel has two entrances—an east entrance and a west entrance. They’re not far from each other, but it’s useful to know which one you’re heading to when you arrive. Second, parking can be a bit confusing. Most of the nearby street parking is limited to two hours and is usually full on both weekdays and weekends. The hotel has an arrangement with the Statesman Garage, but valet service for that garage doesn’t begin until around 5:00 PM. If you arrive earlier, as I did around 3:00 PM, you’ll likely need to use street parking until the valet is available to assist with garage parking. Also, don’t expect to find parking right next to the hotel—you may need to park a couple of blocks away. Other than those minor inconveniences, everything else was excellent. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff was wonderful. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was huge and very clean.

We have stayed here before and we love that it’s walkable to most anything in the city, but if you do need to drive somewhere, I would suggest leaving your car parked and ordering an Uber or Lyft. The rooms are very large and we love the fact that there’s a full-size fridge and efficiency if needed. The staff are all very professional and courteous and helpful when needed. We will stay here again!

With the deluxe rooms you essentially get a small kitchenette apartment—huge bedroom, full kitchen, bathroom, and private dressing area. The rooms are huge and perfect for families who need a little extra space. The beds are super comfortable and the water pressure and temperature in the shower perfect. If you’re holding out for a place with a pool, you can just take the ten-minute walk to Francis Pool, a big public pool. Stop at the Trader Joe’s on the way and grab some things for snacks or dinner to save some money on food. The location is so convenient for exploring DC. We loved taking nightly walks from the hotel to the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. Will 100% stay here again the next time we’re in town.

This hotel feels tucked away in a private neighborhood while being right in the middle of it all. The moment we stepped through the door the staff made us feel like we had arrived home. The suite was exceptional and I cannot wait to stay here again. Book here. You will not regret it.

Hotel was awesome. Location was perfect. Nice and clean. Exceeded expectations.

Good location. On the GU campus and within walking distance to the WH and Washington Monument. Hotel was very clean and staff was helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, very limited on site parking.

The staff at this hotel were extremely friendly and the room was comfortable. The hotel was a 10-15 minute walk to many DC landmarks including the Lincoln Monument. This was definitely not any kind of luxury stay - our room smelled a little funny, there was loud construction next door and everything was a little dated but I would stay again for quick trip.

    They should get vending machines.

We were booked for a suite and the staff member did not read the names right when my husband checked in and gave our room to another person with the same first name and last initial. They comped our parking. But did not reduce our room rate for a lesser room with no view. The food and service in the lower level “restaurant” was very average.
