State Plaza Hotel

The room was clean however it felt more like an older apartment complex converted to hotel. It was functional with a full kitchen but not luxury or even upscale. But if space is what you need, it is a good way to go.

The sink and fixtures in the bathroom impressed us. We rarely see that quality these days. The mirrors and placement of them helped us to see ourselves from various angles. Need I say more! The black out curtains helped us to rest well. AAA+ is our rating. We would have preferred parking on the premises, but around the corner from the hotel was okay. We are seniors. Perhaps asking in the future can help plan parking assignments better. Thank you and all the best to you in your booking process

I had a truly wonderful and magnificent stay! The staff surpassed my expectations and were always so kind and welcoming (especially Andy, Zafor, and Gerald. Five stars to all 3 of them for sure. Highly recommended! The rooms were so spatious and clean. And so conveniently located to all the tourist attractions you can even walk. If I come to Washington DC again, I’ll make sure to book another stay at the State Plaza. Thanks guys, for making my stay so great!

This was a surprising gem. Close to GWU, a few blocks from the metro and close to the mall. Also street parking nearby with park mobile meter app. It's a remodeled older hotel with terrific beds, a kitchenette with table and chairs. Would stay again.

Loved my 5 day stay at the State Plaza hotel in DC! Great location, walking distance from most of the key places such as the Mall, Lincoln, Washington memorials, GW university campus, etc. Rooms were spacious, well maintained and the best part was the kitchen that had all the utensil, cookware, and amenities I would have wanted. Definitely my go to hotel for the next visit coming up in a few months :)

We loved: location, walkability to many cool areas, safety, staff was very friendly, beds were very comfy, affordable We didn't have any negatives our room did not have a view as we were on the first floor to the side so if that is important to you I would ask before you book . I would stay there again.

We didn’t eat in the restaurant or go to the bar. But the room was perfect for us and the staff was the best. We would definitely stay there again .

Great location so close to all the attractions and to Whole Foods.

We have stayed here many times due to its location on the GW campus. The rooms are large and clean and everyone is so helpful. Parking is difficult- not the hotels fault- it’s DC. Location is great and beds are comfy- AC cold - free waters in the room, large changing room outside bathroom and kitchens in the deluxe room. Highly recommend.

Clean!!!

The only think that I wanted to draw the attention to was the smoking odor in the room! I checked in, called the front desk to let them know there is a smoking odor in the room, they said they would send someone to check and refresh the room (or they would move me to another room - which I didn’t feel it was needed given my shirt stay). Someone came in, seems to have noticed the smoking odor, talked in a language that I didn’t understand to the staff over a walkie-talkie, went out of the room and said they will come back and never came back!! I didn’t have time to follow up!

1. The place is VERY dated. My room made me feel like I was in 1993 with decor. The kitchen was even older! 2. While I loved the "dressing area" outside of the bathroom, I feel that the space would have been better utilized as a larger bathroom with 2 sinks instead of one. 3. I don't like hotel bathrooms with shower curtains. 4. Cleaning service refused to clean unless I left room, which I did not. Asked her to come back in "5 minutes" and she said that's not possible. 5. The "doormen" give lazy vibes and aren't always at the ready to open the door. 6. The TV was too small and old for a room that size. 7. Not enough outlets behind bed to plug things in. I had to unplug the clock to plug something else in. 8. The dated restaurant felt like I was eating in someone's basement. It felt as if only one person worked there and the food was just ok. I had a yogurt with granola and berries. They only had ONE type of yogurt and it was plain flavored. My son had eggs, bacon and potatoes.

Convenient location, very clean and the staff were very nice as well as helpful.

Nice and clean just could do with modernisation but still not a bad place to put head down so overall happy
