Kimpton George Hotel by IHG

Good

Well I have a new favorite hotel for when I'm in DC. It's easy to get to from the train station, the staff is super welcoming, and the room was comfortable and thoughtfully done. Love the George Washington theme. The wifi worked well and was a short walking distance from places to eat. The tv channel options were pretty limited, but that's a small thing.

Exceptional

FIrst and foremost, the room was very clean and comfortable. A great place to rest and prepare for the day. But the staff!!!! Wonderful service from check in to check out. Happy hour refreshing local drinks, extra bottles of water, offers to help with luggage and ease of check in check out. They were just so nice and helpful. I will be back! Nothing to say here. I travel a lot and this was one of my favorites!

Really nice staff and dog friendly!

The staff was cheerful, helpful, and really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The decor, however, was tired and needs replacing. No info provided about hotel, DC, etc No bar in lobby. Light fixture in bathroom didn’t work, engineer came to fix and it worked for about 10 minutes than broke again. Great location though! We’re staying at the Kimpton Cardinal in Winston Salem tonight…big difference!!! Bar in room, great restaurant and bar…I think the George just needs an upgrade. TY

I just think that it was the hotel’s responsibility to inform before booking.

The restaurant was closed down for refurbishment when we were there so that amenity was not available. The staff was very friendly and willing to give us a break on the amenity charge the room, which is fantastic. Every day about 8 o’clock it started smell like dryer vent in our room and the room would get heated up pretty quickly but the central location of the hotel to all the attractions of Washington DC makes it a consideration for an next trip.

The staff is very friendly and helpful.

On the plus side it’s very close to Union Station and Capitol Hill. However the hotel itself is tired and a bit run down. My room’s AC rattled and made horrible noises and then broke in the middle of the night on my first night.

Exceptional

The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. They were able to point me in the right sightseeing directions and noted my coming and going. Housekeeping was very good and I just loved the room.

*Read fine prints for added amenities fees! Valet Parking was $25 more than what was advertised on the website. We parked across the street instead

Ahmed was absolutely fantastic and really went the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. I will definitely return to Hotel George for my work travels, in large part because of his efforts.
