Location and accessibility to the Wharf and all its restaurants, again very convenient and top notch!

What really i wish the main restaurant have more space as you may be out of luck if you did not reserve your spot..

Beautiful room, amenities, and very nice staff members. We had requested a room with two beds (mom and daughter traveling together), but they gave us a two-room suite with a sofa bed, because no rooms with two beds were available when we arrived. This was not ideal, but they did the best they could under the circumstances.

We had a wonderful stay at the Salamander DC. The location is great, within walking distance to many of the monuments. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Markus the Valet/Doorman was so friendly and kind to our family, enjoyed seeing him as we were coming and going from the hotel. Overall, we enjoyed staying at this hotel and would stay here again, The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are comfortable.

Great spot, staff super nice and helpful. Traveled with children, first time visiting the DC area. We will come back again. Also they provided us with their Lexus for a 3 hour drive around the area, including complimentary tour to the Smithsonian museums. The best!

I stayed at this DC hotel when it was still the Mandarin Oriental. The location is ideal, the a/c is great but Salamander is not as clean and well-managed as the Mandarin Oriental was. I booked this Salamander DC hotel room a year ago knowing our Semiquincentennial would be a very busy time. Our first hotel room was not clean, the BATHROOM DIRTY & UNSANITARY. THERE WAS OLD URINE ON THE TOILET WHEN YOU LIFTED UP THE TOILET SEAT AS WELL AS BY THE BIDET HANDLE AREA. DISGUSTING. Totally unacceptable for a supposedly 5 star luxury hotel that describes itself as "refined" & "elegant", esp given the amount of money we were planning to spend/spending/spent. Needless to say the old urine was not reassuring, I wondered how clean the bed sheets, bathtub, etc. were. Waited 35 min.s but it was nice of Joelle to get us a different room. Still, bathroom cleaning was inconsistent AND SUB-PAR. Short cuts are unacceptable in luxury hotels; cleaning department doesn't seem to understand clean, luxury or the expectation they should move cleaning carts out of the way for guests. THE 5 STAR PROS who made our stay wonderful: Endy, Malik, Markus, Pong, Elsa, Adham (always warm, always welcoming, went above & beyond), Tyler (polite & professional), Dogon (although we waited 10 min.s for our table to be ready, very clean w/ extraordinary food w/ perfect service by 5 star waiter) & the Salamander Spa (CLEAN & SANITARY, Shanice was very sweet, knowledgeable & professional w/ extremely strong hands).

I had a wonderful stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The restaurant had great food and nice music, which made dining even more enjoyable. Overall, everything was excellent, and I would definitely stay here again.

Friendly staff, clean room and an overall amazing view of the wharf.

Professional and helpful staff. Large, well-appointed rooms. Great views. Perfect location to walk to museums or the wharf. I will always stay here when in DC.

If you have the opportunity eat at the wharf and experience the fish market. Convenient to the water taxi and most downtown locations. We used Uber to get around. Hotel staff is not very available or helpful. Rooms were kind of clean. Mini bar fridge is not stocked unless you request it and will not hold much.

Upon arrival at 4 only one of our rooms was ready. The check in line was very lengthy. Our second room was not ready until nearly 5 and we were assured they would call when the third was ready. That was 7pm at night. The rooms were not adjoining and one was on a separate floor even though we called ahead and were assured they would be on same floor. A floor appropriate key is required to visit floors beside your own. We had to have key cards rekeyed next day and even though we did they failed to work. Hotel housekeeping entered our room and woke us. The room had a clump of hair and wrapped on floor. No robe or slippers. Location is lovely and rooms are okay.
