I think all hotels should offer complimentary coffee, this one didn’t. It was quiet and bed was comfortable. We paid to have breakfast at the hotel.

The hotel was perfect for me, it’s was close enough to walk to the Capitol building , the White House, I even walked to Arlington National Cemetery, and The Smithsonian. The hotel has a restaurant with a standard menu, the food is pretty. The room is a bit out dated, but clean. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Location! Upon arrival, I was greeted at the front desk! When asked about availability I was told they were sold out, besides a suite! I then went on Booking.com and made a reservation! I then returned to the front desk and told her I had a reservation! Ironically, they had available rooms! This wasn’t my first stay at this location but this visit wasn’t the best! I feel as though they were trying to get more money out of me by telling me they had no availability besides a suite which was like $1000!

The pool was nice and clean and there were plenty of beach chairs, the outside bar was fully stocked and the drinks were good. The only “issue” I had, even though it’s not really an issue because they’re making the hotel and experience better, is that I missed out on the indoor bar/restaurant because it was under renovation. Missed out on that but it is looking good. I’d definitely recommend it especially if this is your first time in DC. I’d definitely stay again in this hotel and hopefully the indoor bar/restaurant is completed.

Great location, near several Metro stops. Well appointed rooms, nice balconies, refreshing pool. Friendly staff and surprisingly tasty and affordable meal and drink options on site. One of the most affordable hotels in the central DC area.

Breakfast offerings were good, though they poured only half a cup of coffee, which didn't satisfy the first cup of the day. We didn't use the pool area, as the weather was cool and rainy, though it looked like a nice place to relax if the weather had been nice. It was an easy walk down 14th Street to the McPherson Metro station, which we used to get around the city every day. (Stop at the Brown Bag for breakfast and coffee). And local restaurants were easy to access, with a few only 5 minutes down the street. There was much to enjoy in DC, and our home base at the Washington Plaza Hotel was a great location and a pleasant experience.
