Staybridge Suites Salt Lake-West Valley City by IHG

Everything was great. The breakfast was good and things were clean.

The front desk staff was great along with the room and bed! The shared waterpark is downright dangerous with the lack of supervision older kids were running, shoving and elbowing younger kids to get around them in the line for the waterslide. The attendant took extended breaks each hour which created more tension with the added down time and when he was present he rarely raised his head and looked away from his cellphone. This stay was purely for my son to enjoy a waterpark out of the intense heat and his dream quickly changed to a nightmare. Lastly, the breakfast runs until 10:30am which we had arrived at 9:45 am and the entire condiment bar was empty(salsa, cheese, etc). Two of the four juice selections were empty. Half of the selection of breads were gone and 3/4 of the muffin selections. The jelly containers were all sticky and so many other things I couldn't tell what was clean and what wasn't. There had been a huge spill in front of the beverage area that had just been left so the floor was all sticky. Not sure if the shared Holiday inn is and better with the breakfast but you'll surely encounter the same pool issues either hotel.

The kitchen was a little smaller than I expected, but it had what we needed. The free laundry was a huge bonus. Parking was fine. The 2 bedroom suite was great for our family. Especially the 2 bathrooms.

The lobby area is usually big and inviting. The lobby here was small and confined. The loading / entrance is easy to miss. It looks more like a back entrance. The lobby is very small. Not much room for more than two or three people checking in and allowing room for people to pass through. The overall feel of the property is confining; not open and big as others. The room was nice. The furniture was super uncomfortable. For a room that accommodates 8 people, there is not enough sitting options. The sofa and side chair are extremely uncomfortable. Low and not supportive. The master bathroom was in sad visual shape. The tub had been "repaired" for a missing chunk and poorly done. The paint was peeling on the walls and cracked tile. I realize things cannot be 100% perfect, however when spending as much as we did for a room, one would expect it to be better. The water park area was a great treat. We did not know about it until check in. The breakfast was great. Very tasty with all kinds of options for every dietary need. The seating area is small and not very accommodating for a family setting. There were couple of groups that had to split up their group or have kids sit on the floor.

Honestly this is the only place I stay in Salt Lake area. It is a great hotel for the most part ever now and then staff is rude but then the next shift is so much better. Our last stay was on61 night as a pass through stay but the staff at night always is the best. Great breakfast and amazing pool.

I wish the big water slide would have been working.

Rooms are worn, Missing furniture that should be in a suite. HVAC was very inconsistent. One bedroom would be an ice box and the other rooms are a sauna.

This hotel is beautiful and awesome for kids. On this trip we stayed at 9 different locations and this was hands down the best one.

The rooms we stayed in were nice, clean and comfy. The a/c worked great and the pool was fun. Neighborhood felt safe. We skipped breakfast but there is a cracker barrel nearby. Free washer and dryer in the middle of our roadtrip was great!

The hotel was clean and a good spot to stay but the staff has the worst attitudes. Front desk girl was never there which lead to DoorDash being stolen.
