The room was spacious and clean! The staff was friendly.

Walked through dirty plastic sheet blocking entry, with workmen on ladders sanding drywall compound, with one holding loud vacuum. Snack Shop was ripped out and in its place it was an unfinished hole in the wall. The Work Out Room / Gym was unavailable, filled with construction supplies, and equipment. Dirty wash cloths hanging on shower curtain. Desk staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good and dining room attendant was very nice.

Property was just across the street from the Casino! Stayed there to see a concert. Room was clean and spacious.

disregarding the ongoing construction, I enjoyed every aspect of the hotel. The staff were great, the place was immaculate, the beds were so comfy. I still feel I am owed a discount for 2 nights. two of the 4 nights we stayed construction was ongoing directly above our heads and we couldn't rest. Saturday night the construction people were arguing and throwing things, a hotel is for rest ? I asked for a discount and was told that as I booked with booking.com, a third party they were unable to reduce the rate of the room for 2 nights.

It was good choices. We loved it. A lot of construction. So a little messy. And pool was cold.

The breakfast was excellent!! The rooms were clean. I have no complaints.

The bed is comfortable. The hotel is close to everything. That was about it for our stay. Checking in was chaotic. I booked this room for my inlaws anniversary trip and since we weren't there, I had to fill out a form and send pictures of our card and ID and send it in. I did this but when my inlaws arrived, the lady told them there was no payment on file and so they just put their own card down to get checked in. When he called me, he had to go outside because the construction in the lobby made it impossible to hear him. I called the front desk (and through constant drilling) she informed me that she remembered printing the papers the morning before but forgot. So they had to do a payment reversal on my inlaws. I booked this over a month ago and called and insured everything would be smooth sailing for them as they've had a hard time as of late and we just wanted to surprise them with a little getaway, so I was disappointed to hear that there was issues from the start. A few hours later they text us that they had to be moved to a different room because they found their fudge that they'd just purchased that afternoon, covered in ants. The receptionists response at first when being shown the ant covered fudge was, "oh, you left it out?" as if it was their fault they had ants in their room. After that she offered to spray alcohol on the ants and then if they wanted someone to come spray pesticides in their room......obviously they declined. They were moved to another room and told they should "keep the fudge in the microwave"...the next day they were gone most of the day so aside from the lobby being a wreck and affecting the breakfast seating they had no issues. On the morning of check out, they woke up to a room full of ants. My father in law sent me a video of ants all over their BED and floor. I was mortified and beyond embarrassed to have booked this hotel for them. I supposed future guests should sleep in the microwave to avoid ants in the bed.

Property is dated but they are renovating It was very dated in the lobby and 3rd floor was shutdown. However, our room was brand spanking new! So new we didn’t have window coverings. NOTHING windows wide open for everyone see in.
-
First room had ants, and although they did gove us a new room, they couldnt be bothered to apologize. The 2 indivuduals that did breakfast were fantastik. Veey friendly and on top of everything

Good food choices more seating
-
Very convenient to the casino Looked like it was under construction. Lobby dining area.
-
Mold on shower curtain, no slip prevention on bottom of tub or grab bar for assistance getting into or out of tub. Television did not work. Desk worker was not helpful, hair in her face, unprofessional.
-
it was okay conceding that they were under construction
-
I wish that the hotel would have mentioned that they were renovating in several areas of the building or at least provided a discount rate for the inconvenience, otherwise our stay was very good, plenty of available parking on the property, rooms were updated and clean, the continental breakfast was very good and location of hotel (right across the street from a very trendy Harrah's Casino/Hotel) was on point. The staff were courteous and professional!! I would stay at this hotel again minus the construction/renovations.
-
Seemed a little pricey and the breakfast buffet was not as good as years past
-
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. They are in the middle of remodeling and it was still a pleasant stay. Be back soon.

They were sticklers for ending breakfast at 9:30. One morning we had to ask for bread to make toast at about 9:10. The room was pretty clean. They never made our bed. Overall it was ok.

We're at the Holiday Inn in Cherokee NC, and there's so many issues - it's ridiculous, but this is the biggest. Our son is autistic and explores everything. Well, the window was his first. He plays with the locks at our house and opens and shuts our windows.. Well, this top lock isn't even on, and the bottom is reachable to him, he started opening the dang window y'all!! 3rd floor - room 302!!! It doesn't only open 3 inches like the front desk claimed when I called... "There's no way he can get out, it only opens 3 inches." The screen is also broken.. so easy for him to mess with too. They offered to switch our room, but it was late and that's hard to do with two kids for a one night stay. So, that's issue number one - and most serious. Next up, the parking lot is small, and we had to park in the back when we got back last night at 10pm! So we obviously get our kids and everything and head to the back door. Guess what - the back door key reader is broken... So, I call the front desk to be told, "oh it's broken, you'll have to just walk around." The AC unit is TRASH and it's HOT in this room!! Oh and they are doing construction currently in the lobby and that's a mess too! They claim they're doing breakfast too, but idk, we skipped that mess. The staff isn't friendly from what we've experienced since my first contact checking in. I called corporate, just to be told they don't handle this type of complaints and they'll send it back to the hotel to handle... Oh and to call the site I booked on for a refund if I wanted. So, this hotel goes for around $180-200 a night, is definitely a $99 dollar room if that! I personally wouldn't give Holiday Inn Express another $1. Don't come here if you go to Cherokee NC!!
