Country Inn & Suites Williamsburg

Nothing. The property was literally closed. They didn't have the decency to let Booking know they were closing, so I drove over 5 hours to get to a property that was no longer open, then panicked about having to find last minute accommodations. Absolutely insane.

It has since been taken of by your customer service rep. Although it was after our stay at a different hotel.

We liked the property and received a warm welcome. A great recommendation for a local Thai restaurant which we really enjoyed. Sadly after the first night of our stay we had a letter posted under our door to tell us the property was closing for refurbishment and that we had to check out. We then had a very stressful time sorting our alternative accommodation. We have not yet had a refund for the night that we were unable to stay as the property have not confirmed that they did not accommodate us. Please could you confirm this with booking.com so we are able to have the refund we are owed.

Close to all the attractions Room smelled funny

I like the location. Within walking distance of a 7 Eleven. The bed was too soft. The shower was dripping. The Deadbolt Lock didn't line up with the strike plate and some of the TV channels were not working.

Breakfast was good. Room, bedding, towels were clean. No air in any common space so everywhere including breakfast area was hot. Hallway carpets were gross, pool area needed cleaned as well as pool. Hot tub was broken. Shower head was useable but broken. Ice machine needs cleaned, ice unusable even for cooler (not ingesting).

Front desk personnel were excellent, pleasant and very helpful. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Location was a nice drive to and from Busch Gardens. Location was also close to Pirate Cove mini golf and the Pirate Playground. The rooms did not have coffee machines which necessitated my husband going to the breakfast area to get me a cup of coffee prior to breakfast. Some people just like to have that cup of coffee prior to getting dressed and starting the day. Free newspapers were advertised on the website, but were not in the lobby.

Food did not compare to the quality served at other Comfort Inn Suites I have stayed at in the past. The landscaping was poorly kept. Made you question if the inside looked as bad as the outside. If I had known the appearance of some things I saw, I would have canceled.

Excellent location, parking, breakfast, staff. The manager worked with me to alter my stay for one of my rooms. Excellent service as always! Facility needs renovations. Even new carpet and door knobs would improve the facility. The hot tub was out of order during my stay.

Maintenance in room was not very good Shower rod was pulling out of the wall. Fan in bathroom sounded like a jet taking off. TV stations half didn't work

The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good. It was close to Busch Gardens, our destination, so that made it convenient. The side parking area was unlit which made it a dangerous situation for multiple reasons. The pool room was dirty and unkempt, and the pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned or maintained in a while, so I didn't go in. The hot tub, which I was really looking forward to using, was out of service; I felt this should've been relayed to us at check-in so we didn't waste our time getting our bathing suits on. It also took close to a week for the security deposit to be refunded.

Location Grass was 12" high and very weedy.pool didnt work and was closed. Very poor patches on walls and ceilings.

Staff was friendly Carpet was disgusting, in the halls and room. Wouldn't even consider walking around without shoes. Pool was gray looking and the pool area looked like a construction zone. Interesting smell throughout the building, very unpleasant.

The shower head was zip tied to the handle, also duct tape to hold it to the handle. The hallway carpet was worn pretty bad. The outside grounds need mowed and the hedges need cut. In my opinion it needs updated big time. Not very appealing. Would not recommend with so many other hotels around.

The spa was not working.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was simple but had everything we needed as we didn't spend very much time at the hotel. We had a great time and it was a great location. The hot tub wasn't working, hotel needs updated and landscaping needs done, but overall it was a good deal for what we wanted to do around Williamsburg.

This hotel is disgusting. From the moment you walk into the lobby, the smell of mildew is ever-present. The carpets are threadbare and stained. There was a black mold growing in the bathroom. Everything about this place is gross. Just don't stay here. Ever.

Breakfast was good. I was expecting a bit more of variety such as fruit or different Breakfast meat. The condition of the property. The outside is not maintained whatsoever so first impression the trash was filled, grass was long uneven , long weeds growing. The building itself hasn't been pressure washed so mildew and dirt all on the outside. The inside is nice however it can definitely be updated on furniture and modern decorations. The carpets need to be replaced . The carpets are stained horribly. The rooms are definitely need of repairs. Our light switch was cracked, our carbon monoxide wasn't attached at all.

The grounds were no better. You will see from the pictures, it was overgrown and trash everywhere. I can't think of a good excuse for any of these conditions, so we forfited the second night stay and booked a room in another motel in Yorktown, VA. When we booked this room at Country Inn and Suites, the pictures on the website looked nice. There were 4 and 5 star reviews. After returning home, we look further at all reviews and some as far back as 2023 expressed the same dissatisfaction as what I have just described. Obviously, the 4 and 5 star reviews are from friends and family. When Country Inn and Suites responded to bad reviews, it was a generic response. They had ample time to make corrections since 2023 so I saw no need to send a review directly to them since the conditions had not changed.
