Had a wonderful stay. The property was beautiful

However, property is beginning to show some age. Furniture in the room was pretty banged up. Disappointing that there’s no mini fridge in the room. An empty mini bar fridge that had no temp controls and not cold enough for food (leftovers) was not worth having in the room. It hardly cooled the bottled water that was complimentary. Power outages due to storms the first night made our room very uncomfortable due to no air conditioning. The next morning we still didn’t have hot water in the bathroom sinks. At check out, we asked for an adjustment on our room cost due to the inconvenienced and was told that “upper management will be in touch in about a week”. It has been over a week and no one has reached out. That is unacceptable guest service. I worked in the hospitality industry for over 12 years and there is no reason a guest should be told to “wait and see”. For the price we paid to stay in a luxury hotel I would expect more from their staff. Not sure we will stay again. Very disappointing.

Overall pleasant experience

We came to this property to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The hotel did not disappoint us. The staff were excellent! They were always helpful. The Terrace Room, the hotel restaurant, made our celebration special. The hotel is very elegant. Our room was spacious. We would highly recommend this property.

This is a true 5 Star hotel
-
Room service is with plastic and paper products like take out, very shocking and disappointing for such a renowned and beautiful inn.

Inn was great. Enjoyed the pool, spa,my husband golfed and loved drinks at the bar . Best housekeeping i have ever experienced. Fit in woth the colonial williamsburg experience.

Our room was not ready at check-in, and we waited over an hour. Had I not repeatedly followed up with the front desk, I don’t believe it would have been ready when it finally was. The delay forced us to cancel our anniversary dinner because we no longer had time to unpack, shower, and relax. When we finally got to our room, the air conditioning didn’t work. The hotel brought in a noisy portable unit and promised to repair the main system, but never did. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of service recovery. No one sincerely apologized, offered an explanation, or made any effort to make things right. The staff knew we were celebrating our anniversary, yet there wasn’t even a simple acknowledgment or gesture. Housekeeping was equally inconsistent. Despite never displaying our “Do Not Disturb” sign, we received turndown service only once, on our final night, even after raising the issue. Problems happen at every hotel. What defines a luxury property is how those problems are handled. Unfortunately, the Williamsburg Inn showed no urgency, ownership, or concern for its guests. We returned because of wonderful memories from past visits, but left feeling overlooked and deeply disappointed.

We always love staying here; the facilities are exceptional.

Make reservations at the restaurant upon booking or arrival as none were available to us. We opted to eat in the bar. Food was good but not hit enough. The lobster was raw and was sent back to the kitchen. Expensive disappointment.

The Williamsburg Inn is absolutely FANTASTIC! Tim and Leslie helped us with smooth check-in! They were just so nice and helpful!!! We were surrounded by beautiful decor/antiques! Rides were complimentary to dinner/stores (Howard was amazing)! The incredible maids cleaned up our room and provided chocolates and slippers! Tim even text me to see how things were going!!! We celebrated our 31st Anniversary at this incredible Inn and loved the beautiful grounds and service! We will tell everyone and we will be back! Just amazing, thank you.... WE ARE GRATEFUL!!!

Incredible!

We were amazed with the condition of this 100-year-old property! The functional areas are beautifully and tastefully restored and the traditional areas are perfectly maintained. All staff members were extremely friendly and professional, and they were eager to assist in every request. Front office staff, maid service, baggage handlers, restaurant staff were all exceptional. Our stay could not have been better, unless it had been much longer!!

We are very picky about hotels. The Williamsburg Inn was so lovely that we ended up staying an extra night. It is a classic, luxurious Colonial hotel in a peaceful setting, just a block from the Main Street of Colonial Williamsburg. The rooms are elegant, the beds very comfortable and the staff incredibly professional and friendly. Staying in such a beautiful property so full of history was a true treat. We can't wait to go back.
