Basic room, tiny vanity, window blind in disrepair, some dust. Property generally average

The property is large, so listen to the staff’s helpful directions upon checkin. Highly recommend taking the time to relax and read at their pool. The quiet adult pool area was a very welcome and unexpected amenity!

The hotel needs updating and it felt like the decor was just thrown together. We stayed in the Tazee building and it is set up like a regular hotel , but one that needed new paint and the carpet to be pulled up. It was an ok stay but I wanted a little more of the magic of being in Colonial Williamsburg.

Sweet tea restaurant was disappointing with higher prices and lower quality food. I had the chicken as my choices were limited being GF and it was so salty that I couldn’t taste the food. Will always be one of our favorite places to stay but they could do better.

Great hotel that is in the heart of Historical Williamsburg. The room was clean. The only downside is that the pool/workout facilities are across the street from the hotel.

Breakfast was great. All staff members were friendly, helpful, very nice! all good, nothing negative

Beautifully maintained. Helpful and friendly staff. Walking distance to Historical Colonial Williamsburg.

The location, adjacent to Colonial Williamsburg, is the main selling point for staying at the Lodge. Customers shouldn't have to ask to have your room cleaned. The shower toiletries (shampoo, conditioner) were watered down. In the past, these specialized products were so enjoyable (scent) that I purchased them from the gift shop whenever I visit. In general, it feels like some corners are being cut.

I love the proximity and the ability to easily walk to the downtown colonial area. I loved the ability to use the pool. We hung at the bar at the hotel both nights. We loved our balcony. The shampoo was all water. The conditooner was puke green and looked the consistency of a sinus infection. It was so disgusting. My kids had a barking dog that wouldn’t stop barking right by their room. Also there was not enough staff on duty for a weekend to support the bar and restaurant. The bartender was amazing but overwhelmed by the sheer volume of orders.

The resort has many amenities and is within walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. However, in addition to the room rate, which is somewhat expensive, there is a $30/day charge for parking and breakfast is not included. Our room was clean and spacious but the air conditioning was very drafty and noisy. I had to turn it off completely to sleep at night. So I consider this a good choice if you expect to use the amenities a lot, but a poor choice otherwise.

It was a great experience. Proximity was great. Parking was easy! It was a great weekend.

Our room was in one of the guest houses far from the main building, and on the second floor. There was no luggage cart and we took 2 trips down to the garage. The receptionist said nothing about that. No overhead lights in the room so it was very dark. Only 1 knob to hang bath towels so it encouraged guests to use the towels only once. What’s wrong with hotel designers?

We’ve been to the property many times but never to this building. We paid top dollar for a room that looked absolutely nothing like the photos in the “select your room” section of the process. It was old and likely hadn’t been update in decades. The bathroom was so small you couldn’t turn around easily. The location of the room was adjacent to the maintenance area/loading dock so the “beep beep beep” of trucks in reverse was constant 24/7. Checking out, we were told parking fees were added to the account. Parking fees? Again, we’ve been there many times and never had a parking fee. Never told- just the card capture for “incidentals”. Hotels.com doesn’t mention a fee for parking either. Then for the cherry on top- I check the hotel website for the parking fee and find out our room, had I booked directly and not through Hotels.com, we could have paid HALF the PRICE of the room on Hotels.com. I don’t know what new deal they work but do not use Hotels.com.

Having restaurant choices in the building was great. The room was huge and so quiet. Very comfortable bed and bath set up. The grounds were also very nice. Couldn't be a better location when visiting Williamsburg or College of William and Mary. I never used my car. The last day we were only offered a buffet, but there were two levels (price and options). We chose the lower price option because we really didn't want to eat much, but accidentally chose an item from the higher priced option when at the buffet because it wasn't marked as such. When the waitress saw the item she said she had to charge us for the higher priced buffet. I paid a huge amount for very little food and felt like this was bad for both patrons since it was not marked and for the waitress to have to police it.

Great location, long wait at the restaurant

The Williamsburg Lodge is a terrific place to stay if you are planning to visit the area. It is close to Colonial Williamsburg and the sites, as well as downtown. The room was very quiet and the beds are comfortable. The only negative is that we didn't have a microwave. I highly recommend this hotel for a great experience!

Be aware that the parking for the hotel is very expensive. Once you're there, however, you won't need to move your car until it's time to leave because you can walk to everything in Colonial Williamsburg & the Merchant's Square area. The hotel buildings are kind of spread out (we never did find the pool) but the rooms are nice. I was given a handicapped accessible room, which I did not request or need so I had an issue with the closet (way too small & only 4 hangers) & since the shower curtain was a little short, water got all over the floor from the walk-in shower. But the bed was super comfortable, with nice linens & there were lots of pillows. We had one dinner & one breakfast at the hotel; both were delicious, & the service was excellent. The people at the front desk were really helpful.
