The Boston Hotel

I will say the staff were helpful and welcoming. But the grounds were not kept well and the bathtub in my room had cracks. My front door did not securely shut unless I pushed it in. It has basic accomodations, if you just need a place to sleep for the night. As a female solo traveler. I can't say that I felt completely safe, as the grounds are accessible to the street.

Parking was also very expensive at $35 USD per day, especially considering the hotel is located in a residential area. It honestly felt like an additional way to squeeze extra money out of guests. The check-in experience was also a bit strange. We were told our room wasn’t ready when we arrived early, which is completely understandable, but the staff didn’t even ask for our name or check whether our room might actually be available. Finally, our room was ready when the staff checked so we were let in. Overall, the hotel was okay, but between the expensive parking, the lack of upkeep around the property, and the check-in experience, I expected a bit more for the price.

Nice location, close to subway. Though unfortunately green line was under service and not running.

Room was overall ok for the price, but the bathroom seemed like it was clean on the surface because when I looked down at the toilet it was filthy.. the shower was a bit dirty as well. The lobby had a smell to it , not sure if it’s because the breakfast room was near but it definitely wasn’t a pleasant smell. Breakfast was good, basic cereal, bagels, frozen breakfast sandwiches, boiled eggs.. staff was ok, helpful when asked for things.

Good value. Close to train stop. Free breakfast was good but almost everything (except fruit) was packaged and all cutlery, plates, cups etc were disposable. A little bit of recycling for the sake of the planet would be good!

The atmosphere at The Boston Hotel is lovely. Fresh flowers, citrus infused water and freshly baked cookies in the lobby. Very clean rooms, helpful staff, and a reasonable price. It is also close to the Green Line B train, so very handy for an efficient commute.

The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was decent, Holiday Inn style, with lots of options. Easy walk to Whole Foods and CVS. Large urn in the lobby with ice cold lemon water was appreciated, and fresh cookies were always available. Parking was easy, even though you pay $25 per night for that convenience. Everything else was pretty subpar for what I would expect for almost $300 per night. TV was old and too small for the room. Shabby curtains, weak shower head, and scalding hot water. You could hear the people above us walking around and flushing the toilet, so the insulation was poor. I read that the front desk staff was celebrated for friendliness but that was not our experience. When we arrived, the guy was yelling at someone on the phone, which is not professional. The rest of the time the people never even looked up when people came through the lobby. An occasional smile and “good morning” would have been very nice.

Breakfast is okay. Lots of options, but not great quality. The facility itself shows its age, but we can tell updates have been made. Floors are all laminate, so not great for exercise purposes. As others have reviewed, there is a significant lack of electrical outlets. We were on a street-level floor, so street noise and upstairs neighbor noise was pretty high. We mitigated by turning on the HVAC fan. Staff is fantastic. We were welcomed very warmly and felt like VIPs upon arrival.

The pull out couch was the worst place I have ever slept. The floor was preferable to the pull out couch.

Didnt have my reservation. Left me and family 7 hours away from home in a norester with nowhere to stay. Expedia no help either. Won't ever use either ever again.

The entire staff could not have been more accommodating to us during our 3 night stay. They were all so friendly and welcoming.

Poor

The hotel was located well, just a 5-minute walk to the T train and can get everywhere. The hotel was a bit run-down and not as clean as I had hoped. I did like the complimentary breakfast, can get protein and carbs and eat healthy. Keith at the front desk was just delightful and helpful; the rest of the staff was not friendly, but they did assist with towels.

The rooms are dated and need a lot of work. The floor in my room was sticky. The chain lock on the door didn’t work. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Overall for a night in passing, it was ok.

Super nice staff, but the place is shabby. We were only there for a hot minute because we went to a show nearby that night, but it is a shabby motel at best.
