Clean rooms

The pictures on here are deceiving. The hotel is old and not kept up. The carpeting in the room felt sticky under my feet and gross. The beds were ok. The restaurant next door with the pastries was great. The valet was nice. Overall it was ok. Loud and noisy outside in the middle of the night.

The room was clean, and housekeeping did a great job throughout my stay. The front desk staff were also friendly, welcoming, and helpful whenever I had questions. The evening valet attendant was fantastic—very polite, professional, and genuinely pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, the room itself had a couple of issues. The shower leaked, and the bathroom didn’t have an exhaust fan, which made it feel humid after showering. The biggest downside, though, was the morning valet attendant. He was disrespectful, had an attitude when speaking to me, and made the experience frustrating. When I asked for my car, he would walk away instead of communicating and even seemed to avoid me. It left a really negative impression and honestly put a damper on my day. If it weren’t for that experience, I would have rated my stay much higher because everyone else—from the front desk to housekeeping and the evening valet, provided excellent customer service. I hope management addresses the issue, as one employee shouldn’t overshadow the hard work of the rest of the staff.

Great location overlooking Grant Park and Field Museum, great bus and train connections, AC was needed and appreciated, so was coffee in lobby and ice water with real fruit. So appreciated a reasonably priced room when I needed sudden accommodations. Bed and shower were perfect. Thank you very much.

Room was pretty dirty smelled like there was mold in there. Main door had a pick up on the bottom for hardly any privacy.
-
Great location, wonderful staff, and comfortable room. This was a perfect place to commute to McCormick Place and still be in the middle of downtown Chicago.

Nice place to stay close to everything

It was very safe on the bed. The AC was in the perfect condition possible in the room, the only things I want to complain about is the TV Channel not going to YouTube. A lot of modern TVs should go to YouTube. The water not going to hot mode, and there are no microwaves.

The rooms were average in terms of cleanliness- not unclean but also dirty in the corners of the rooms and the carpet also felt not clean. The drain in the bathtub is slow draining. The shower curtain doesn't stay completely shut due to the nature of the curved rod. Room service occurs at odd times of the day, but it's not a problem necessarily. Breakfast is at an additional cost. The staff are exceptionally friendly. I experienced no problems with the visit.

I was impressed with this property, especially for the price. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, our room was ready earlier than expected, and the room was quiet. Our beds were very comfortable and the location was great. I will definitely stay here again if I go to Chicago.

I had a great view of the park, lake and city because I was in a corner room. It was within walking distance of the park, beach, and train station. I didn't get a chance to go this time but next time I am going to visit the tourcher museum which is also within walking distance. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. I would stay there again.

The staff was super nice and helpful! We would stay here again… not the fanciest but it’s an old building. 4 stars
-
The air conditioning unit didn't work good
-
Staff nice. Parking is valet only or find a garage. Only so many spaces for valet. Breakfast is coffee to go
-
Air conditioning was very strong. Hotel didn't necessarily look like the pictures. Only one elevator so sometimes a wait. Bedding was clean.
-
No parking! Had to go to a parking ramp and pay an additional $60!!
-
Not one to complain but the room had a concrete hole in the wall by the windows, went to get a blanket and stopped by the vending machine and had a cockroach crawl on my leg. Don’t know where it came from but it was there. The 2 restaurants were amazing both taste and staff! The hotel staff was super friendly but the building needs updating and cleaning!
-
I booked this hotel because they have valet parking. When we checked in, I was told the parking garage was full. I was given 3 other parking garage options and they were all full as well. So I had to drive around and find parking on my own. The air conditioner in the room was broke. There were no other rooms available to move to. They sent someone up to try and fix it but it couldn’t be fixed. They did bring us a fan but it was very hot and not comfortable. Also, a chunk of the bathroom door just fell off when we shut it.

i was over all satisfied!

The room was clean and stocked and everything worked. Staff was friendly. The valet parking was full but they pointed us to other nearby options. Great location and stay!
