Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago-Downtown

Usb in bedside lights were great for charging our mobile phones. Only lost a star for toilet issue. Staff great. Breakfast manager fabulous with everyone.

The location of this hotel couldn’t be anymore convenient to everything you need in Downtown Chicago. Every staff member we came across was so friendly and helpful. Special shoutouts to the front desk, valet, and especially the breakfast staff, so upbeat and helpful while clearly enjoying their jobs. The breakfast and taco bar each morning offered so many delicious options. The Wednesday evening social was a nice selection for a light dinner also. I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in Chicago again.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The shops were all close and within walking distance. It was exactly what we needed for our vacation stay!

The location was the best...

The breakfast was okay (for the type of hotel) and the staff at breakfast was super nice! Some of the valet guys downstairs were super nice and the cleaning staff was friendly. Other than that, NOTHING was above a disappointment. The bathroom in the suite had a horrible sewage smell. The room had dust all over the place as if it had never been cleaned before. The paper coffee cups on our suite had green mold in them, as if they had been wet and kept on the counter. Many little items were broken such as the peep hole cover and other chipped things. Most of the front desk people were not friendly or understanding which made complaints and help requests horrible (including getting an invoice at checkout). At the end of the stay, I had another big issue with the business not following Booking's guidelines on providing invoices with the full amount to the costumer. After days and hours on the phone with both the hotel and the costumer support from Booking, I had to rely on an email from Booking that documents this situation and shows my company name. It seems as this hotel is not following contracts and rules that they agreed upon and they don't care at all for the costumer.

The property was very clean, which is very important to me. The location was great for walking and exploring - great shops and restaurants. The staff was very helpful with suggestions and directions.

tear from an older long term stay hotel. Over all experience was ACES! Staff were exceptional! Solid 10! Management welcoming. no frills - safe - convenient location! location! location! The views exactly what you would hope to expect while visiting sweet sweet Chicago!

The size of the room and the cleanness

This hotel is perfect for large families. My wife and I have 6 children and we all fit in one suite. Breakfast was a full meal, not a continental breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Went out of there way to help us. At check in they even changed our booking to help us save money. Walking distance to Navy Pier. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like. Chicago smells like pot, but that’s the cities fault not the hotels.

The rooms were normal and nice. The breakfast had a variety of choices to pick from. Location was great, easy to get around and CTA was close to get to.

Exceptional

Most of the staffs were nice and polite, however the facilities were not up to standard and the breakfast varieties were a total disappointment. I was over charged for the suite and discovered all the suites were basically the same and the studio suite are better than the bigger 1bed suites. On the nights I stayed, it was available for around 109$ but I was charged over 303$ …I never saw any cleaners cleaning rooms during my stay and the bathtub was disgustingly rough. The location is okay, so if paying a very reasonable price about of not more than 100$ for a suite, then it can be tolerated… but anything higher will be a complete ripoff.

There were very few apps available on the TV. And sofa-bed was awful for rest. There also was a smell in the kitchen area

The location was ideal, just a few minutes from the river walk, magnificent mile etc. Very central downtown Chicago. Plus there was a train station and bus stops on the doorstep so you could get anywhere in the city as the public transport is very good. The staff were on the whole very friendly and accommodating. We got a free upgrade to our room which was lovely. Everywhere was very clean. The waffles at breakfast were 10/10. The rooms were quite outdated, however well maintained. The pool was quite small and shallow, plus the gym didn’t have lots of equipment but enough to get a basic workout in. Breakfast wasn’t the best. The best part was the waffles and they didn’t have them on the weekend :(

The front desk, breakfast crew (especially Ms. Lacey & Mr. Jeremy), and front door attendants were so friendly and kind and also helped my disabled husband. We really enjoyed the hotel facility and location as well. Thanks! Diane Haselroth & Patrick McCoy
