I had a great time and everything was nearby.

Too expensive

Staff was so accommodating and friendly. Points deducted for the property being dated (the room has peeling wallpaper, moldy spots in the bathroom). Points also deducted for the shower not being cleaned well (found a used washrag in our shower before we got in for the night).

The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest. Everything else was great
-
Historic and clean room. The staff were so helpful throughout the hotel. Loved our stay.

Great place and location.

They didn't have the room ready for check-in which was bad for us because we almost missed our dinner time we had set up. Took an hour to get it ready and when I went back up and was like hey I need this so we can get ready they were like okay and then the problem was solved right away. You might think this is a good thing but it makes you look like you can only get things done when you start to complain. The lady checking us in was just a dumb person and should have solved the problem by an upgraded room or something instead of making the two 26 year olds wait because they were chill about it. Welp now I am writing a bad review because I spent a large amount for really bad service. If you want to check in on time don't stay here.

The check-in wait was eternal. There were three people over at the diamond and platinum section check in with nobody in line and only four staff helping all of us “regular people” who were nearly fainting from exhaustion after having to stand so long to check in. It felt incredibly elitist and made me feel like my years of Hilton stays meant absolutely nothing. Super frustrating. To add insult to injury, I was charged for every single minibar item because I moved them all off the sensors so that I wouldn’t be tempted to eat them. I’m trying to not eat processed food so having them in the room at all was annoying to begin with. There was no sign in my room indicating that the minibar items are on sensors. So I have a $250 charge on my credit card now that I’ve had to make multiple phone calls to try to get off. The accounting customer service is also eternal. All in all this was just an incredibly frustrating and annoying experience.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, with a huge piece of Chicago history. Absolutely loved it.

The lobby bar was iconic, as was the rest of the lobby. Otherwise the hotel was dated and ordinary. We paid a resort fee for WiFi, the gym, a laundry credit that was too small to use and a bar credit that covered a happy hour beer or glass of wine. It still ran between $700 and $800 a night. I was disappointed almost to the point of tears. I strongly advise against staying there. Just drop into the bar for a drink. Don't expect crackers or nuts. They don't provide those at the comfortable seating.

This was an amazing hotel! Literally has everything you could need/want. Super clean room and very nice. I will be coming back. I think this is my new favorite hotel in Chicago.

Unique historic stay. The empire room is the bees knees. Resort fee is worth it. Staff very helpful great central location. Lobby bar was very nice.
-
We were stuck in their elevator for 40 minutes and staff were very rude and dismissive and refused to compensate us

Always enjoy our stay here.
