I booked the river hotel which is in the same building as the club quarters. They assigned me a room in the club quarter on the upper floor which I read was outdated and it very much is. The room was not very clean and the bed sheets and pillow covers had a weird smell to it. The ironing board had stains on it. One of the elevators broke down so it took forever to get to the lobby and back to my room. I didn’t notice they put me on club quarters side instead of river side until the end of my trip. The river hotel side is suppose to be a little more updated but I’m not 100 percent sure. If you book her avoid the club quarters side if you can. The staff if nice and helpful though.

We wanted to stay along the Riverwalk & Our stay was convenient to the cruise & all things walkable.

The spot is right in the heart of downtown — that part was legit. But once you step inside, the experience falls flat hard. Starting with the room: the photos online do NOT do justice to how gloomy and dated it actually looks. The carpet? Straight-up 80s office building vibes — worn out and depressing. Then my toilet clogged literally right after I peed. Took an hour and a half for maintenance to show up. Dude walks in, plunges it without saying a single word, and just leaves. Super awkward. On top of that, the room stayed way too warm. AC was barely doing anything. Hallways and elevators felt hot and stuffy the whole time, like the building had no airflow. We’re in the middle of summer, but for what I paid, I expected the place to feel fresh and relaxing. It didn’t. I wish I’d read a review like this before booking. So I’m leaving one to help the next person deciding: probably best to stay somewhere else.

I love staying here whenever I'm in Chicago for a concert! It's in a great location, there are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance, there's several CTA stops nearby, and the Riverwalk and Millennium Park are also really close! The hotel itself is great, the rooms are super clean and the air conditioning was most welcome after our 20 min walk from Union Station! The staff are super nice and helpful and always available to answer questions about the city or give great recommendations! I am staying here again in November for another concert, and definitely looking forward to it!

AC didn't run great, but it was okay

This hotel was exceptional, and the staff made it even better. Very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. And the location was perfect for us.

I had a double bed. That was a surprise and definitely not what I wanted. Everything else was fantastic.

We had called the front desk about a remote missing from the TV and they sent up the maintenance guy, when he came he knocked on the door and then unlocked and opened it without waiting for a response. Me and my fiancé thought it was pretty weird that he did that but he got us the remote. 8/10.

The stay was very nice. It's nothing fancy, but it's clean and the staff are all friendly and helpful.

I love that CQ hotels provide refillable water bottles with chilled water dispensers. I loved this feature at their Philadelphia location and use it often. Wi-fi is relatively fast, and the value for the room is good, despite how small many of them are. I wish the TV were a smart TV. The elevator broke during my stay, but that was a one-time issue that forced me to climb the stairs (good exercise).

Parking...non-existent. You have to park so far away and walk 7 minutes back to the hotel. I was told it was $30/day. It was actually $65/day. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the very small room. One of the elevators stopped working, so it was so over crowded many of us had to use the stairs. I was on the 23rd floor so we didn't leave unless necessary, so we felt trapped basically in the room. They leave snacks, but if you eat them you'll be charged a high fee. You can use their wifi but you'll have to ask how to connect. They don't have any instructions or pamphlets with information. If you want ice or something from a vending machine, you have to take the elevator to the lower level. Inconvenient for those on the upper levels.

Great staff and room - the elevators could be very slow during early morning though. We had to wait whole 15-20 min.

Arrived an hour after check in time. Room not ready, told to come back in 20 minutes. Came back 30 minutes later. Room still not ready. Was told we would be “upgraded” to a room with microwave and refrigerator. Didn’t mention we would be moved from high floor, 21st? To a a 4th floor room with only queen bed instead of the king we booked. Did not have time to get moved as we already had to change our dinner plans in order to make it to our concert. Disappointed.
