The ‘room only’ stay was as it was described. Basic cleaning of the room was not done. The staff was not polite and had to walk on eggshells around them.

Be aware that there won’t be anyone working the lobby until 10am to let you or anyone in. And I was unsuccessful at getting an early check in. That was annoying. Otherwise, cool place.

Despite my Expedia booking times listing check-in at 2pm and checkout at 12pm, the hotel insisted that check-in was 4pm and checkout at 11am. They would not budge, even when I provided the exact booking details I had paid for - so information is clearly incorrect. Hotel should have honored their listing details. Additionally, when I did the early check-in on my phone, also there listed the 2pm and 12pm times...so multiple places where the booking information provided is incorrect. We waited a long time to check-in (one staff member who was very busy trying to do everything), also other guests in the same situation waiting to check-in standing there over 30 minutes with nobody even at the desk. Our room's toilet had not been cleaned. I guess because this is an independently-owned property there were other "fine print" items that was confusing after I made and paid for the booking - like being asked to pay more for amenities the Expedia booking listed as complementary. The whole ordeal of contacting the hotel with questions multiple times because of confusion surrounding the forms I was asked to sign, wasting my time on a back-and-forth email thread, them not honoring the booking details times, slow check-in, dirty bathroom, unhelpful staff/owners...all this hassle without them even attempting to help or being polite to assist means I won't be booking with them again.

Clean and well maintained. Staff on premise was very helpful, the only slight issue was communication remotely before arrival was spotty.

The staff was very unhelpful. They wouldn’t let us check in until after 4pm and when we were able to check in they said our AC was down and were not accommodating to our situation. The front desk girl on nights was extremely rude and should not work customer service.

We immediately turned around and asked for a refund. They gave us a run-around saying we would have to email some mystery manager who can't be spoke to. A week later, we still dont have our refund. Beware, they also try to add a ton of fees once you arrive. This is a full-on scam.

I really liked this "boutique" style hotel as it was conveniently located and was a great value for the price. It was walking distance to the Magnificent Mile and the Navy Pier. Hotel room was very clean and in a safe area. I would stay here again.

This place was disgusting. The room smelled like urine and was dirty. This is not really a hotel, it’s a hostel. Literally fraudulent advertising.

Every single movement my wife or I made on the bed created a terrible squeaking noise. Barely got any sleep. The floor was visibly dirty. The basement was REALLY cool. Ping pong tables and other games and large refrigerators that anyone could use. Free coffee. Cool staff.

Room was well sized and bed was comfortable. I didn’t have a use for kitchen/common areas but thought it would be fun with a group. Highly recommend.

Room was fun and unique, different from the classic “2 Queen bed” room. Lockers were a cool touch! Only problem we had was parking.

Customer service is the worst

I only have one negative… it was quite noisy. We could hear everyone coming back in the hallway late night, neighbors toilet flushing and some noisy neighbors getting it on the floor above us. I would suggest “Earplugs” when you stay. They should offer them at the front desk. Other than that we loved it and will be back. With earplugs…
