Overall a good stay. The room wasn’t amazing but also decent. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was nice and had a good happy hour. Walkable to lots of restaurants and bars.

A total disappointment for birthday week. The staff is rude, unfriendly and very unhelpful. The best employees were the cleaning staff. I sent several emails prior to checking in about down pillows needing removed, they didn’t comply, caused an asthma attack, acted like I was a bother when I called asking for the pillows to be replaced and the gentleman who brought them brought 2 foam and 2 more down, all out of pillowcases. I asked to speak to a manager twice, never got to. We had a suite and it is not worth the hype, blocked views and the wallpaper was all scuffed up. In a city like Chicago you have many choices, you can choose better.

Staff was very nice. Hotel clean.

Front desk staff were amazing. Beautiful property, comfiest beds. Great restaurant. Will be back!

Wouldn’t stay here again.

Really great location and walkable to everything. It’s an older building but pretty well maintained. Comfortable bed and enough pluses that I will stay here again.

The Godfrey is a great hotel in an excellent location in Chicago. However, our single king bedroom could have been better appointed - although it was clean, there was no dresser for storing clothing, despite ample space to include one. When we requested extra pillows and hangers for the closet, it took over an hour and two calls to the front desk to fulfill this request. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay, as well as the I/O lounge on property.

The Godfrey is close to everything, has the best rooftop bar with food as well as a downstairs restaurant that offers room service. Was not the cleanest when I checked in, hair in the shower drain and all over the floor. But once I requested cleaning daily it was clean.

Would definitely stay again. In the heat of everything. Beautiful Uniqe fun.

Too noisy

Great stay and a good location to shopping and restaurants. Their breakfast choices were good as well.

Quiet, clean, great location, nice amenities. Everything a hotel needs to be when you travel.

The pictures on the website were rather misleading. The room wasn’t the worse but it was not, what we were expecting based off the pictures online. Also, the night of July 26, whomever was working the desk was rather rude. I called down for more towels and their response was “after 11 I’m the only person working, you can come get them yourself.” I have no problem coming to get them myself, but how would I know you’re the only one working? No reason for attitude. Also, there were lots of cobwebs in the room and the beds were very squeaky when you would move around in them. A lot of pipes and top of shower was very rusted. Yes, there is a parking garage but it is the tightest parking garage ever, if you have a larger SUV or truck it might be very hard to maneuver.

The good points are the property is in a good location, the shower was large with good water pressure, nice mini fridge in room with a small freezer, Weekend brunch hours were good and check in/out was quick. The negatives are no carpet in rooms, restaurants were avg with limited menus, bus boys in the IO restaurant/bar not friendly, the bar staff closed the roof top on a hot night and forced all of us inside, the DJ was below avg. The Mediterranean restaurant had avg cooks and staff. The fitness center is a small room with one bench some dumbbells and treadmills. The spa is operated by an offsite company who had very poor communication skills and were unreliable. The bed was very low to the floor and squeaked and there were no dressers.

Great location for visiting the city. Clean and comfortable room with many restaurant options near by.

The staff was very nice. I asked for a high room and got it. Asked for late check out and got it. It is a great location and never once needed a car to get around the area for good eats. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the gym. Very basic in nature and even lacking a few important dumbell sizes. However for only needing one day in the gym, I made it work. Views were great. I would stay again.
