MainStay Suites Near Denver Downtown

When I booked the room online I was told free parking only to be charged for parking when I checked in. I could have stayed downtown in a nicer hotel for the same price.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience warranted one. I booked through a third party for two nights, then added an earlier night. Because the hotel kept showing the original dates, I called both the hotel and booking site multiple times, including during my layover. I was repeatedly assured it was handled and showed my updated confirmation at check-in. The room was clean except for hair covering the shower. Housekeeping addressed it the next day, although the shower pressure was extremely weak. The bigger issue came when I returned from my conference the following day and discovered ALL of my belongings had been removed because they claimed I was supposed to check out that morning. The front desk was extremely unhelpful and told me to contact the booking site, then said they couldn't accommodate me and I needed another hotel. While I sat in the lobby booking another room and waiting for my Uber, I was told I couldn't stay because I was no longer a guest. When I said to call the police if it was that serious, she said she already had and that I would be charged with trespassing. The booking site refunded my third night, but the hotel's handling of this was unacceptable. I repeatedly confirmed my dates before arriving and showed proof at check-in, yet still had my belongings removed and was forced to find another hotel mid-trip. Thankfully, I had emergency money available because not everyone could unexpectedly pay for another hotel. One star.

The room was clean and had a kitchenette. They do not tell you for parking you have to register on the QR code and they will charge you $16 for you care to be parked. The only option they give you is for 24 hrs even if you’re not there for that long.

They have a lots of cockroaches. They were in the little kitchen area and more in the bathroom . And some were just walking on the room. Over all it was just ok. Just one more thing they change for parking and it doesn’t say anything when you’re booking your room.

The price is the winning point here. I'm keeping in mind that it was like half of what we would have paid for a place downtown proper. The room was decent and clean and the beds comfortable. Room smelled a bit musty and weird but we got over it. Breakfast was good too. Only complaint is that I picked this place based on Parking thinking it was not only available but included in the price. This was not the case. You have to pay Denver Park $16 to park in the lot in front of the hotel. Just FYI. Otherwise good options.

Close to everything in Denver and convenient drive to any part of the Denver Metro area..

GREAT hotel stay for the money and so close to Meow Wolf!

Worst night sleep I have gotten in awhile. The room next to me was up all night and I could hear water dumping (maybe the toilet) and what sounded like a vaccuum cleaner running at various times. Told staff in the morning and no apology or anything, just that they would let management know.

The hotel was just sketchy enough I did not want housekeeping in our room and decided not to mention this until we checked out. The front desk woman argued with me on why I had not mentioned the blood as soon as I noticed it. I was not asking for a refund or anything just that they clean it better, I am not sure why she argued with me? Hotels.com said there was free parking and upon arrival the hotel said they just began charging for parking at $16 a night. The parking lot has big signs that they are not liable for your cars being broken into and is right on the city bus route. I saw at least one transient person come in and make breakfast for herself and another charging their phone in the lobby. For the price and location- Three stars

the staff did not understand the difference between an apple Mastercard and Apple pay. The location and pricing of this hotel probably lead to a lot of fraud but not accepting a major card is wild. Staff was argumentative and uninformed. Wont be staying here again.
