My wife and I liked the location, thought the staff was friendly and professional, and liked the food in the hotel’s restaurant. Highly recommended!

They had an outage that caused delays Liz the staff was wonderful but there were still delays. I had to have my blackout blind cord fixed as it was broke when I arrived. They repaired but not adequately (it still wouldn’t go down the last foot). Not huge deal but nonetheless kept from a 5 star rating

I highly recommend this hotel when visiting Denver. The Slate is conveniently located, extremely well maintained, and our room was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the mountains (corner queen, 4th floor). The staff is kind, helpful, and friendly. Liam at the front desk was especially attentive to making certain my daughter and I enjoyed our stay. We will definitely stay here again on a return trip to Denver.

The parking situation was really the only downside. The staff was great. The hotel was clean. The restaurant downstairs had great service.

Really nice place. Might have to look at staying there more often.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Air was great. Room was clean. Bed comfortable. Shower was wonderful. Enjoyed our stay.

    Cool hotel, good staff.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

For the price there should be free breakfast and free parking. The shower also leaks and water goes everywhere.

This is a cute place we really enjoyed our stay it’s an old public school and the company did a great job playing off this theme , the food was creative and yummy. The window situation in the room is a little off. Overall a really cute and nice place to stay.

    Todo bien

Very good use of an old school. But our room was extremely small

The concept of turning the Emily Griffith Opportunity School was a unique idea, however some of the rooms were like being in a basement closet, literally. The noise on the surrounding streets made it difficult to sleep. An interesting stay, but I would probably not return, unless visiting the Teachers Lounge!

Best tasting breakfast 5 stars. Burrito and waffles both fabulous. Bartenders out server. Not very attentive but okay. We were put in an accessible room which was odd. Had to remove the shower chair to use the shower. Water pressure meh. Bed pretty comfy and bedding was great. Ac was hard to regulate and auto blinds didn’t work very well. Room was spotless, good location.

Very nice hotel, nice vibe - the repurposed school was a very cool aesthetic. Restaurant was amazing, highly recommended. Right next to the convention center.

    Clean room, staff was great!

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Great history and excellent repurposing of the former school building. Along with excellent location and features makes this our go-to spot for hotel accommodations.

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

This was a unique well kept property. Staff was welcoming and helpful. The food and drinks in the teachers lounge and bar were excellent. The service was awesome for the restaurant and bar. Great place to stay.

Centrally located in downtown Denver. About a 30-minute walk to Coors Field to watch the Rockies. Dining/breakfast menu is a little pricey. Overall a nice hotel that is quiet and comfortable.

This was my second time staying at the Slate, and it has quickly become my new favorite hotel in Denver. The staff is wonderful, the property is so cool, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The location is perfectly situated to walk almost anywhere in downtown/Capitol Hill. I’m already looking forward to staying at the Slate again! Pro tip: the overnight property at the parking is wildly expensive - it’s very easy to find street parking or lot parking nearby for MUCH cheaper.

    So comfortable and convenient.
