Hampton Inn Memphis-Southwind

The halls were very dirty and did not look like they had been cleaned in a while on all floors. Rooms were okay but nothing to write home about.

The hotel is about to have a makeover and I'm afraid they are letting things go more than they should. The grass needs cutting, The hall carpets need better cleaning and the rooms have items missing or plumbing issues. The upgrade is supposed to be next month.

The lady at the front desk when I checked in was extremely nice that was about the best thing with this hotel. I had looked online and it said they had many cribs. I was traveling with a four month old baby so I didn’t bring mine since the hotel had one, but when I checked in, I was told they did not have one no pack and play nothing. When we got into the room that evening we tried to plug-in our phones to charge them but the plug-ins were not working at the nightstands. I noticed that they were unplugged so I got down to try to plug them in and noticed that the electrical outlet was essentially a fire hazard so I did not plug them in. While I was down there looking for the plug I noticed mildew all underneath the wall. The room smelled very musty when we checked in. I received a text from the manager upon check in and I messaged her to let her know about the problems. She simply said she was sorry for the inconvenience. I will not be staying here again.

Accessibility to neighboring restaurants etc. Room amenities were ok but I booked 2 rooms and only my room had an iron/board, so we had to share lol

The shower was good and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was terrible the pans all look very unclean the food tasted like it was reheated from the day before and not edible. The pool was not open despite them saying it was and that was part of why I booked in first place and the icemachine was broken.

The property is going thru a transition to new ownership. The staff is still top rate but the transition is a little rough so that some of the supplies and meals are not consistent. However, I will return.

The hotel is very convenient for those volunteering or attending the FedEx St Jude Championship. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is "tired" and needs to be refreshed. Furniture in our room was oversized (taken from a much larger room?) and left less than two feet between the chest and the closet door to access the bathroom from the bed. No breakfast served five of the seven days we were there. No coffee three days. I'll stay there for the convenience but wish the hotel would get an overhaul....especially for the price.

The lady at the sign in desk was friendly and attentive. The room was clean and comfortable. There was no breakfast served either day. The pool was green and wasnt cleaned during our stay. Our bathroom was out of body wash, no lotion, shower cap, or make up remover sheets like usual in the bathroom. I heard other guest complain about no shower gel. The elevators were extremely slow and noisy. No shuttle service to the golf event this year like last year. Just not the good experience we had at this same hotel last year.

Went for breakfast at 7 am the next morning. Only potatoes & sausage, couple pieces of bread. The clerk didn’t provide any wi-fi or breakfast hours when checking in. If we had not arrived late in the evening we would have left!

Breakfast did not even existed, every morning it was empty and some mornings I believe they did not even had anything. Then the pool, it looked as it had been close for a long time. When I asked, they just said it was closed and no plan to reopen. Had my room cleaned once during a four nights stay, and they did not give new towels for the ones they took out. Try to get a shower after the golf tournament before leaving for the airport, that was not possible, then I had to extend my trip (no compensation for not having a pool for four days) Wonder why Hilton has it name on this hotel, you expect some type of quality level. One thing was good, actually close to the airport …

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was not good only waffles were offered and one morning there was no orange juice or apple juice available. We understand that changes are forthcoming new owners. We were surprised there wasn’t a shuttle offered for FedEx golf tournament like there has been in past years. We will try again next year.
