What was not great: Some of the staff were not helpful nor did they try to problem-solve. There is a Nepresso coffee machine in the room. Coffee pods are limited to the first day as a "Welcome Gift". After that, we were told to get coffee on the 2nd floor lounge. However, the machine wasn't working, and there was no one around to fix it. The bathroom was in need of an update. The shower tile is old,and there was mildew in the grout. The sink cabinet was broken. Some of the drawers in the kitchen were warped and could not be shut. The lock on the front door was stripped. We put a chair in front of the door at night. That said, there was never an incident. It was not a bad stay and the pros would probably outweigh the cons for most people.

Bad check in experience. make sure you look out for the email prior to arriving.

Do not stay at this hotel. Unsafe, Lowest guest experience I’ve had in years of travel. I’m a woman traveling alone on business and after I fell asleep in bed, a random man entered my hotel room, who HAD BEEN GIVEN THEY DOOR CODE TO MY ROOM!! It was around midnight, I was shocked awake and a bit scared -he yelled that it was his room and why was I there- I told him I had paid for it and please could he leave. About 20 minutes later, the front desk person starts calling me repeatedly (at 12:30am) and Instead of apologizing. woke me up to ask if I could please move hotel rooms because they had “double booked” my room. I told them maybe they should ask the man without a room to move into a new room, instead of asking me to pack up my things in the middle of the night. The next day I reached out to ask what happened and the hotel management took two days to respond with: “sorry for your frustration.” That’s it. No sincere apology no attempt to take responsibility. They set up a potentially dangerous situation, then mishandled the aftermath and never owned it or offered even a free breakfast, ZERO accountability or concern for their guests. Makes you think they’d do it again…

The 17John is well located in the financial district very close to Fulton station and provides a much larger living space and better price than a hotel, especially during our stay when the city was extra busy. Would stay again!

Central, spacious and clean - no bars and restaurants in the hotel but there is so many great places to eat / including a wonderful bagel shop just across the road!

Great place in lower Manhattan! Easy to get in and out of to enjoy a day in the city and super accessible to the subway. Truly like coming and going through your own little apartment. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Pretty nice. A few odd touchscreen or cheap materials upon closer inspection and some maintenance items overlooked- a loose faucet, broken shower seal between glass, shower curb other sloped in so water runs out on the bathroom floor, closet doors run into each other.

Pretty good. Nice location. Apartment was very spacious. Two things were broken in room and not fixed properly. Front desk manager not very helpful. Overall, decent stay.
