Moxy NYC Downtown

Good breakfast Reception was shambolic. Even though first receptionist (who was rude to other customers who she had given faulty key cards to) saw that I had fully paid with Booking, she still charged my card. Then told me I’d have to talk to someone who wasn’t available. Told me to email. I did. They didn’t reply. Got a second receptionist and they told me they reverted payment. Then an hour later, another charge put through. Further emails ignored. Queues at reception are really long. Terrible first and lasting impression despite a good hotel. Training needed!

The location is tops! With Fulton street nearby, subway was great. 5 minute walk to riverside which was nice. Rooms were small but comfortable and cleaned every day including fluffy towels. We were on the 17th floor and it was really quiet. The first lift was very slow with no option to walk the stairs. The communal areas could have done with a good clean. Minimal menu but was okay, best to eat out.

It was right beside the subway, 5 minute walk to the Oculus and WTC.

Exceptional

The chopped cheese sandwich I did have there was good , staff in there was kind of dry though. First off my view. I paid $1500 + for a city view and was looking at a building the whole time. I called and made a complaint about it and see if we could get a better room. But was told someone would email me or call me and I heard nothing. Also called for towels one night & was told to give them 10 minutes. Never saw them until we got back way late that night

Cool space and the rooms were cozy Mixed experience with staff and communication about pricing and amenities.

This was our first time staying here and now every trip to the city we will be back! Staff was incredible and amenities are unmatched for the price!

upon check in very long line which I understand it was 4pm normal check in hours , just a bit un organized at first but settled down. Carpets in both sets of elevator to get to 3rd floor and second elevator to take you to rooms were filthy. Rooms were nice just didn’t like that bath soap wasn’t available and you had to go back to front desk to retrieve requested items. Hotel room views were decent staff at the bar and front desk were welcoming. I wouldn’t stay back at this hotel respectfully.

Cosy, clean and very convenient. I liked the bar area too. A bit small but it is a NYC standard I think.

The views There wasn’t really a lobby, the room was very small, it felt like you were in a closet. NO MICROWAVE/ NO FRIDGE be aware.

The bathroom sliding door fell on me; it was already off its hinges when I arrived, but I didn't notice it at first. I took a photo in case I needed it. I should be compensated, as it hit my foot and forehead. I called maintenance to fix it, and they told me they had 2 prior jobs before coming. I stood there holding the door open for 20 minutes before he arrived. This is not how a hotel experience should be. I look forward to hearing from you.
