Enjoyed everything about this hotel. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet. The breakfast was tasty. But a particularly lovely touch was the fact that the young woman who checked me in, Kyra, remember I was taking an ocean liner in the opposite direction of the trip my mother took 103 years ago. She presented me with a bag of delicious salted caramels for my voyage.

Very centrally located, very friendly and welcoming staff. A good size room and bathroom for central NYC, very clean and comfortable. The rooftop bar has excellent views over the city, particularly at night when all the building are lit up. The AirCon in the room was a bit noisy, but could be turned off. It would have been nice to have been told on arrival that the hotel has an arrangement to use a local gym for free. I ended up paying for a gym as I wasn't made aware until the last day of my stay that I could use one for free.

The hotel bar closed at 11pm and we felt rushed.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. And the location was great in terms of being very central and close to major attractions and transportation. Beds were not the most comfortable and we could not get the temperature to adjust. So the room was ALWAYS freezing.

Loved the roof too view of the Empire State Building. Great bar! Also very nicely decorated rooms with comfortable bedding. Unfortunately the gym was not in the building and a bit of a walk away which was inconvenient. A small gym would have helped.
