Best Western Plus Soho Hotel

Rooms and bathrooms are stylish and spacious. Comfortable bed. Very good lighting. Strong shower pressure and very hot water. Price expensive but not too bad compared to other hotels just north of Canal Street. Breakfasts plentiful and of varying quality but adequate on the whole. I stayed 6 nights for around $3500 incl breakfast. My room was almost silent, which was great - but had a view only of a wall and other buildings. Much better than facing the street in which construction works were underway, and traffic noise interminable. Only one member of staff at the front desk (can't recall her name - I think she said she was from Antigua) was friendly and engaging on my arrival. The others were off-hand, unsmiling and generally unhelpful (the worst was a very tall, handsome guy with longish hair and what I thought was an east-European accent). The main problem with the room wa that there was no closet. Three hooks and some hangars, and two narrow draws on each side of the bed were all there was in which to store clothes. And the room is definitely large enough to accommodate a small closet. Another problem was that the bedside light switch was only on the left side of the bed - a nuisance if you're sleeping on the other side. Breakfast used disposable plates which was unpleasant. The location of the hotel (not Soho, but Chinatown) is not great, being just south of Canal Street - hawkers all over the place blocking the sidewalks, but this was just an inconvenience. No umbrellas for use by guests.

Wonderful stay! The location is great, very walkable to Little Italy, Chinatown, and shopping on Broadway. The rooms are clean and new. Rooms are small, but it worked just fine for my husband and I for three nights as we didn’t spend much time in the room anyway. Staff was very helpful as well. Would stay here again!

Friendly staff, clean room. Fan in bathroom did not work and was never fixed when we requested it be repaired. Sink was clogged but was fixed.

The staff were a bit intense, at check in I was confirming what the $100 dollar hold was and if I would get it back at check out. They said unless you “mess up the place then we will take it all believe me.” I got it back but just was a bit hostile, I took tons of photos of the room in case I was going to get charged and have to fight it because it felt as though that was going to happen. The hotel itself was okay, I guess a good cheaper stay in NYC.

Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Cleanliness. No kettle in rooms. Didn’t like the hand soap. Water build up after showering, outside the shower.

Good location for subway access all over Manhattan The room was freezing and it couldn’t be changed. All rooms on the floor had to be the same temperature. Staff were unhelpful when we asked about it. Rooms were tiny and breakfast was not good, American sugary plastic food

Very nice hotel. Staff was very accommodating. Very clean. Only downside was we were not able to access the thermostat without calling down to the front desk to have front desk change the temperature so the room was freezing..

Highly recommend! We got in early and they were able to store our luggage however our room was ready before check in time so we were able to drop them. They also stored our luggage on our last day after check out and explored. Very clean hotel. Updated. The lighting under the beds set the mood. Our room had a fridge. Front desk was helpful and responsive. Also rooms were very quiet!

Location is central. Has a gym The AC was extremely cold, made us sick. We asked to lower it, they refused and gave us a portable heater as a solution, which didn’t have any effect. Paid over $300 a night just to get sick because they make the rooms feel like siberia.

Perfect Subway connections around and very solid hotel. The streets around the property are full of clandestine traders trying to sell counterfeit/fake stuffs.
