This was my 4th stay after about 15 years. Looked a little “worn” unfortunately. The mattresses and pillows were terrible. Pretty loud in the hallways bec the guest room doors close loudly. But the location is great, near Chelsea Mkt, subway on corner. The rooftop bar is awesome. Great view & dj. Friendly staff.

The pool was super crowded and cloudy / dirty. Avoid this place unless your single and under 25.

First, we were double charged at the pool. We told the staff we were staying at the hotel, and they asked for a credit card to open a tab, which made perfect sense, so we agreed. When we closed out, we realized we had been charged twice. We asked for an explanation, but it didn’t really make sense. They told us the extra charge would be reversed, so hopefully that gets resolved. We then had dinner at the restaurant downstairs, which was fine. However, when we decided to visit the rooftop, the experience became the worst we’ve ever had at a rooftop bar.As soon as we got off the elevator, we saw a line of about 10 people. We politely asked the host whether hotel guests also needed to wait in line. That wasn’t an issue—we were happy to wait. The problem was the way we were treated. The host seemed much more interested in texting on his phone than helping guests and, in a very rude tone, simply told us, “Just get in line.” After waiting about five minutes, a security guard instructed everyone to move to another line behind the elevators. We followed his directions, only to watch people who had just arrived remain in the original line and be allowed upstairs ahead of us. When we tried to return to the

The rate for chairs in the swimming pool is not reasonable!!!

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Great hotel but in order to get a bed at the pool you need to go through a separate process and pay.

Room was not clean and in bad shape , smelled like humidity. And the have the audacity to charge you a commodity fee after you left !!! Of 50 us dollars plus tax . Never again

Room was very nice with a good sized bathroom and walk in shower. Porthole window could be cracked open for some fresh air, and we had a nice view of the Empire State Building. No coffee maker in the room but lobby cafe opened at 7. Great location close to the ACE&L lines. Right near the high line and Chelsea Market.

No help with adjusting ac on heat wave. No sleep, no connection with staff via virtual phone call .

It's a good hotel, leaning a bit towards the hipster Chelsea experience. There's bar but no coffee in the morning. Rooms are decent, NYC sized, quiet, good AC.

Room was beautiful. Originally got the balcony “overlooking” the pool, but switched because the balcony door locks when the pool closes at 6pm…smaller room than the first, but nicely decorated.

    Great location to Chelsea Market.

We loved the location and fun boutique vibe (especially the art) of the Dream Hotel Downtown. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast situation was a little unclear as it's through a public coffee shop. That said the coffee and breakfast food was delicious. The biggest bummer was the pool. My daughter could only have access it to it from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Not ideal considering how much we were paying to stay there. Also there were private parties almost every night that we were there - limiting our access. Overall - if you are looking for an edgy NYC stay in a great neighborhood - this is a great fit!

Not a family friendly hotel though my family had a great time. Forgot that there are two clubs below. Couldn’t use the pool because of private party and pool times for kids to use were 8am-10am them 6pm-8pm. Otherwise a super cool hotel and great area.
