Very helpful staff
-
Nothing other than location Not a comfortable hotel. Felt very much like a hostel. Will not stay again
-
Lots of stairs, no elevators be ready to use your leg and glute muscles.
-
The outdoor garden was covered in dead leaves and really needs some TLC. The staff were helpful, friendly and courteous. The room was clean and housekeeping kept the room neat and tidy.
-
The hot water did not work the entire time. The air conditioning was kind of spotty at times. I understand it's Manhattan and you mostly pay for location but amenities need to be a little better. Being on the 5th floor with no elevator wasn't a lot of fun either.
-
Fantastic location, very easy to get to from JFK airport and walking distance to Times Square and the downtown villages. Helpful staff and the garden area was a nice oasis to relax in.
-
I enjoyed my stay at the Chelsea Pines. Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A/C worked well, which was essential. Good wifi. I will be staying there again.
-
This is a budget hotel in a great Manhatten location within 2min walk to the subway. There is no lift and 5 floors with steep staircases. So if you are on the 5th floor with large suitcases as we were then you will be very grateful for help offered by the great staff; as we were.

Comfortable stay and convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff!
-
Convenient location. comfortable stay. Nice to have fridge in room, but no coffee maker (although there is coffee, tea service when the kitchen opens at 7. Place needs maintenance but I would stay herr again!
-
While the location was incredible this hotel had a very hostel energy to it. The staff was great, but I didn’t feel like my room was that clean. I would have preferred to have better access to water and also a full length mirror in my room.

The Chelsea Pines is a quirky, unique, and reasonably priced gem located within easy walking distance to The Whitney Museum, the Chelsea art galleries, the LIttle Island, great restaurants and more. It is not for everyone as there is no elevator for the 5 floors, and the rooms are oddly configured(each one is different) and small but for fans of the movie stars of yesteryear the many, many posters of the stars are worth it. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The furnishings are old and some could use replacing and the lovely courtyard foliage could use some pruning but overall our stay was great.

Las fotos mienten. El lugar no fue agradable. El cuarto y sus camas de lo peor. Te cobran si llegas antes del check in. No hay elevadores. La experiencia no fue agradable.

The staff is awesome — so friendly. The location couldn’t be better. Bed was comfortable. It’s a little noisy on the second floor for those of us who go to bed early but other than that I liked it and will be back.

Perfect location. Will be back!
-
A great little spot. Quiet and unique in the heart of Chelsea. Staff was always friendly and had great recommendations.
-
Was here for three nights! The room was perfect, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the bag holding option prior to check in was a plus, the patio was great for sitting in the mornings, and the stay overall was great. There was also always coffee brewed in the kitchen which was a huge plus.

This is a perfect location. The room was clean and exactly like the pictures. The outdoor space is great for in between enjoying the city.
-
What we didn’t like was our room was quite small, in fact at times claustrophobic with a tile chip on the bathroom floor that was never repaired after repeated requests. The toilet paper holder had a broken fixture to it. And finally, no area stations were available on our flat screen TV thus unable to watch the NBA playoffs. James was very thoughtful, making multiple attempts at accessing the stations by alternative means without success. The Inn was centrally located to a number of venues we sought to attend which was very good. Thus the reason for a “Fair” rating.

The hotel is great, but just remember, there’s no elevator. There’s an outdoor area and a lovely terrarium and small kitchen for snacks and drink drinks.
