Four Points by Sheraton Midtown-Times Square

Arrived to find 24 hour picket line in front of hotel and was met by union representative asking me not to stay in hotel. Ended up going somewhere else rather than deal with noise or cross picket line. Feel hotel should have communicated situation prior to arrival.

The elevators were problematic, necessitating the use of stairs at least once daily. The staff was courteous and did their utmost to assist. The location is highly convenient, with a 6-minute walk to Times Square.

Employees on strike, so they force you to use a single door entrance inside a smoking area (gas chamber) with no ventilation. 3 elevators, but only 1.5 working. 1 is taped off; never in service by choice. 1 works part time; supposedly parts are ordered, but we waited over 30 minutes EVERY time we tried to leave the 16th floor. Most times I walked down the 16 flights of stairs, but my handicapped wife could not. To make the elevator situation worse, employees with keys were hogging the working elevator endlessly. The restaurant charges nearly double the posted, advertised prices. Desk clerks and management will do NOTHING to address or remedy these problems; they do not care if guests are significantly impacted.

I understand that the situation may not have been entirely under the hotel’s control, but guests were still paying for a comfortable and peaceful stay. I felt that the hotel should have offered some compensation, a discount, or at least some additional consideration because of the ongoing disruption. Unfortunately, they did not offer us anything at all, which made the experience even more disappointing.

My experience with Four Seasons was one of the best I’ve had in my entire life. Great area, everything was so close by and rooms were very clean, and would recommend people to stay at Four Seasons.

I would stay in this hotel again if I was in the area and there was no protest going on. But if that protest were still going on I would find a quieter location to stay.

Le seul point négatif concerne la grève à l’extérieur de l’hôtel. Du matin au soir, les manifestants font beaucoup de bruit et, chaque fois que nous entrions ou sortions de l’hôtel, ils nous criaient « Check out! ». Ce n’est vraiment pas agréable pour les clients qui viennent simplement profiter de leurs vacances. Je comprends que les employés aient le droit de manifester, mais il est difficile de comprendre pourquoi la direction permet que les clients soient constamment interpellés de cette façon à l’entrée de l’hôtel. Mis à part cette situation indépendante de la qualité de l’hôtel lui-même, notre séjour a été très agréable.

Our first room had a broken air conditioner. However, the staff were very accommodating and moved us to a new room, which was wonderful! Nicole was especially kind and helpful! Both rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had a nice stay.

When I arrived at the hotel, I discovered that there was an ongoing protest directly affecting the property. The noise level was extreme, with drums and demonstrations taking place outside the hotel. The situation was so disruptive that the hotel was providing earplugs to guests. This material fact was never disclosed on Expedia’s booking page, and had I been informed of these conditions, I would never have booked this property. Compounding the issue, my flight was delayed by one day, and I was charged for that night despite being unable to arrive as scheduled. Due to the conditions at the hotel and the exceptional demand related to the World Cup Final, I was forced to secure alternative accommodations at a Hilton property at a substantially higher rate. As a result, I incurred approximately USD 1,500 in additional lodging and related expenses. While I appreciate that the unused nights at the Four Points were ultimately refunded, this does not address the significant out-of-pocket costs, disruption to my trip, inconvenience, stress, and physical discomfort caused by the situation. The lack of prior disclosure prevented me from making an informed booking decision and directly contributed to the damages I suffered. Therefore, I respectfully request that Expedia review my case, thanks, GP
