Candlewood Suites New York City-Times Square by IHG

Was only there overnight, but would stay again the room was clean and comfortable, it was very walkable , the front desk was friendly and had a nice city view

Very nice stay in midtown, clean comfortable room with a nice bed. Felt very safe here. The promised fresh bean coffee machine was out of order, but staff kept urn coffee made at all times. We had an issue where the refrigerator became very disturbingly loud and it was handled immediately by maintenance (needed a little defrosting). Front staff was very friendly and helpful. Expedia did not quote the local taxes due at the property correctly, but that was not the hotel’s fault.

My stay felt much better because I booked this hotel last minute before checking out from another hotel. I stayed in a very bad hotel where there was no AC working and I had no option, but to check out. I found a good price on Expedia for Candlewood and reserved a basic room. My 1st impression was really good. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The room was spacious, although I did not use some of the amenities. I stayed for 5 days and the stay was fairly good. The hotel is centrally located and walkable distance to all the attraction. If the rates are fair, I would definitely come and visit if I am in NYC.

One of my wife’s and I favorite spots to come to in mid town manhattan . It’s very close to the train station so it’s perfect for us. Customer service is great and the surrounding area you can’t be it they have everything you could possibly want.

Close to tourist attractions such as Broadway and shops and restaurants. Free water dispenser in the lobby. Staff were friendly, and professional when I had a concern with faulty equipment in my room Faulty safe in my room when I arrived - was already locked and, when unlocked by a staff member, was then unable to be locked. Due to other plans, I no longer had time to wait in the room for the engineer on duty to resolve this, and I didn't feel comfortable with someone visiting the room with my belongings in when I was out AC could be loud at night if on auto mode TV remote didn't turn on channel guide and could not select channels from the guide. Ironing board in room was a little unbalanced but usable if positioned carefully. I had stayed at this hotel before and had no issues and was happy to return, so i was a little disappointed. However I was only staying 2 nights and would be out all day so these did not become an issue during the stay and I eventually forgot to report these additional issues, but seems some facilities in rooms could do with just an extra check that all works as intended before a new customer checks in.

My stay here was great, I appreciated its convenient location and walkability to dining options, Times Square, and more. I was disappointed with the cleaning of the rooms as it was only once a week, on Saturday morning. When I requested clean towels, it took over an hour to receive them. Overall, the stay was good, and the room was nice. I would stay here again.

The location is good , staff is courteous. The price is high . The room is small , no view from room . The carpet in lobby is shabby .

Nice fridge and microwave etc in the room. Liked the coffee/tea station in the lobby. High floor rooms have a decent view of Empire State Building. Wish the water pressure was a bit higher. Be wary, as my friend got stuck in the right hand side elevator.

I dropped off my backpack in the morning and came back for it; I still had two hours to spend there, but the receptionist kept me waiting a long time for the restroom and never let me use it.

The first thing we were grateful for was the possibility to check-in late at night (arriving around midnight). During our stay, we enjoyed the free cupcakes offered near the front desk, and the free coffee and ice water at all times. The location was very practical, about 5 minutes from the subway and times square. We loved the room, the bed was very comfortable and had plenty of space! It was nice to have fresh towels every day as well. There were free washing machines available too. This hotel is perfect for people that want to cook and don't want to eat out every day as they are suites with kitchenettes. When we arrived, the staff member told us that our reservation didn't exist and that we didn't have a room, after a better check, he indeed found our room (it was a bit scary at first). Otherwise both of our room cards stopped working on the 5th day of our stay so we went to the front desk and got them re-magnetised, after that it was okay but it is a bit of a scare.
