Candlewood Suites New York City-Times Square by IHG

I choose this hotel for the location, room has a great kitchenette. The noise between rooms and in hallway (from other guests & staff) was very loud this time.

Good option for a midtown hotel. Good value for the money. Not inexpensive but better than other options.

Great hotel 5 mins walk from Times Square. Considering the location, pretty quiet. Great having the kitchenette. Second stay there. I’d stay again

Great location! Staff was helpful. Room was a suite which was nice for three travelers to have a little extra space and a kitchenette.

Got locked out of my door and they couldn’t help get me in for about 15 minutes: very stressful. (Ps both myself and maintenance and keys) additionally the kitchen hot plates didn’t work at all, didn’t even turn on. So I could not cook as I had hoped.

Convenient location for using the subway, and close to MSG! nice hotel room with a kitchenette and comfortable bed!

Super good value. Convenient to the train and theater district and Times Square. Would definitely stay here again. For the price we got two separate rooms for the same price as a family of 4 sharing one small NYC hotel room.

31st floor was away from it all. Efficient elevators. Roberto at front desk. Good a/c. Kitchenette mostly, though scant equipment. Bagged free ice. After making and drinking our tea, and brushing our teeth, we discovered all the cold water was brown (the colour of the lemonade at reception actually);the brown water in toilet was the worst. I called down and asked for the manager, and was told by person on phone he was assistant manager. I explained the EWW situation and, although we had totally unpacked for 5 days, said I wanted another suite. Without a word of apology or understanding how unpleasant this had been, he said. “Well, the cleaners don’t arrive until about now so it will be at least an hour.” An hour goes by, the brown is even more visible. No call back, so I call again. “Well, he said, others have called also. It’s a problem moving your room as we have no way of knowing how they will be. It should clear out by the afternoon, I am told”. Not an apology, so we are left with no showers. “When is your real manager in.” “In an hour or two”. I said I wanted her to know how unpleasant this had been and wanted to speak with her. No return call, of course. No adjustment in price. Lousy service and we had prepaid our holiday. The water stopped being brown. We will never return. Roberto should be made manager and the other two relieved from customer service demands.

Very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Although my basic needs were met, this property is desperate need of renovations. The fixtures in the rooms are very old and do not give the guest a sense of value for the dollar amount being spent.

Super nice and responsive staff. Property is a bit tired but they seem to be in the midst of making improvements. Appreciated the location - worked well for us. Assuming that improvements are indeed underway, I would try this location again once complete.

Loved where it is situated . Staff were nice . Kitchen area was ok too . Room was clean . Will stay there again if opportunity arose

Hotel is clean and attractive. Staff was ok, could have been more helpful but in their defense, it was busy.
