Hotel Alameda Highline

Stay was fine. Room was good. Staff was good if a bit confused.

Love the location & staff at this hotel, I stay for a week 2 times per year for work.

Air conditiining in my room wasn't working so they gave me a floor standing cooling tower the first evening and repaired it the next day. So kudos for the service. The hotel's proximity to the Starett Lehigh Building, a trade show/event space is it's biggest plus point. However the 27th st block it's on isn't the best. I didn't feel unsafe but the displaced folks, their trash and relative emptiness of the street wasn't appealing. I would stay here again if I had another event at Starett.

The rooms are very dark, bed is almost on the ground so hard to get in and out of regardless of age or fitness level. Mattress is a thin piece of foam. No hooks or place to put your things in the bathroom. Not a great room. More of a 3 star hotel.

The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made my stay enjoyable. However, the property could use some improvements. While the rooms include a mini freezer, there is no microwave available. For the price of the hotel, it would be reasonable to provide a shared microwave for guests. The coffee wasn’t very good, and the bathrooms are in need of maintenance. Another issue is that the rooms tend to get warm at night, especially when everyone has their air conditioning running, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. Overall, the excellent staff made a positive impression, but the hotel could significantly improve the guest experience by addressing these maintenance and convenience issues.

The hotel is located in a walking distance to Hudson Yards and Macy's is not too far. The room had no AC, and the window could not open - in themiddle of the NY heatwave! & they had no fans to offer. The rooms were tiny and there was no space for bags. I arrived late so I had to spend the night, but I checked out first thing in the morning and found myself a different - and cheaper, but much nicer! - hotel nearby. I was told I could ask for a refund for the nights I did not spend there as the room was not habitable, but to this day nobody responded to my email.

Unfortunately this is not a 4 star hotel. Its more of a hostel. Lower your expectations or choose an actual 4 star hotel.

Not very prepared as a hotel

The room in comparison to other 4-star properties, was below standard. There was general dampness in the room and it didn’t smell or feel clean as a result. I observed dirts and old soap scum throughout, and woke up with multiple mosquito bites all throughout my stay. I would not return.

Front desk and bar people have given the worst service in NY or any other hotel in the work I’ve been. You are not a 4 start hotel it looks more like a 0 stars. Scammers

The hotel is lovely. There is no gym which was a pity. The staff and cleaning service was exceptionally nice. The bar is very nice. I don't mind music playing when I fall asleep, but if you do mind, there is music from the rooftop club and downstairs club playing on the weekends.

Where do I even start with how horrible this hotel was. AC blasting, no way to turn it down. Shower faucet broken, no way to adjust water from scolding hot. Literally holes in the ceiling of my room. Blackout curtains were on an electrical system and didn’t work so you could literally read a book in the room in the middle of the night. I got in super late and unfortunately didn’t discover this all until it was time to shower and go to bed. At that point, the front desk said there was nothing they could do for me other than “hang a sheet over the window.” This is, at best, a 2-star hotel that is worth maybe $100/night. I had to leave and stay somewhere else.

The hotel waived the facilities fee and provided a fan, which I appreciated, and the staff was friendly throughout my stay. However, the lack of air conditioning was a significant inconvenience, especially during the summer. In addition, the rooftop bar was closed to hotel guests after 7:30 p.m. due to a private event, and one of the elevators was out of service during my stay. On the positive side, the room was clean, and the staff was kind and helpful. My main concern was that several advertised amenities and facilities were unavailable during my visit.

Great location. Perfect boutique hotel

It was close to Chelsea piers which was my everyday destination paid for a reservation that clearly stated breakfast was included. However, upon arrival, I was informed that on Saturdays and Sundays the hotel does not serve breakfast at all. Instead, they only offer brunch from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. This information was never disclosed during the booking process. This schedule is completely impractical for guests who leave the hotel early in the morning, especially those who specifically chose and paid for a reservation with breakfast included. * Even during regular breakfast service, there are simply not enough staff to operate it properly. This morning, there was no one available to assist guests, and I had to leave without being able to get breakfast for my daughter before taking her to her two-week summer program at Chelsea Piers. * The hotel repeatedly has no clean towels available. When I requested towels, I was told there were none because it was Sunday and the laundry service had not delivered them. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel advertised as 4 stars. * Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the rooftop hosts very loud parties with virtually no soundproofing. The music is extremely loud late into the night, making it very difficult to rest. * Only one elevator is functioning, causing long delays and inconvenience. * The front desk received packages delivered for me but repeatedly told me that nothing had arrived, only for the packages to be found later. Tonight, at approximately 10:20 p.m., a staff member came to my room demanding that I move to another room because I extended my reservation through Booking.com and the extension was apparently booked under a different room category. I understand that the room category may differ. However, I immediately offered to pay the price difference so that I could remain in my current room. The room they want to move me to has a non-functioning air conditioner, which is not an acceptable accommodation, especially during the summer in New York.

Arrived at the hotel. Only on check-in was I informed that the AC for my room was broken. I was offered a fan, but in 36C heat, that would still be unbearable. I was 'kindly informed' my stay would be refunded but ended up having to fork even more to stay somewhere as it was last minute. Terrible customer service - I don't understand why they couldn't have told me beforehand?
