Hotel Stanford

Location, super friendly staff, clean, breakfast, and free bottles of water at reception. Our window faced a wall and had no proper daylight coming in.

Location is excellent, Room is ok. The bed is comfortable. This was my second stay at the hotel. During both of my stays the most unpleasant were the sliding doors of the closets and the bathrooms. None worked properly. Breakfast - for someone who stays for more than two nights, having the overcooked sausages and nagets was not the best option.

It is a basic 3 star hotel with excellent location. Room was clean and comfortable.

The room size was great. The pipes were a bit noisy when another room either above or beside were using. But old building, old pipes. Our only complaint was the room temperature. It didnt matter what you turned it too, it never got cool. It was about 72-74 all the time. Which sounds fine, but sleeping was warm for us. But other than that it was convenient, the staff was great, water pressure was great, breakfast was ok, but most places are like that, but great to have a small bite and quick cup of coffee. They were super accommodating with our luggage as we arrived early and left late…very friendly. Would stay again….

Room was clean , staff was nice , I needed more air conditioning but I am from south Louisiana. Such a close safe walk to MSG.

Disappointing

Right in the heart of Korea Town, lovely authentic and very lively neighborhood with great Korean restaurants and supermarkets. Right behind the Empire State with many bus and metro stations around. Leaving!

The location wasn’t bad close to the empire states building and walking distance to Times Square. When we arrived our room was unmade from the previous guest and it stunk. The room itself doesn’t look anything like what you see online at least in my opinion. Some misleading photography the room is very small. Hopefully you get a room with some sort of a view ours looked straight at a concrete wall so it was constantly dark.

The property was in a good location for all the best sights and areas of New York. The room was clean but compact and had a good shower and toiletries. I was very disappointed with this hotel, especially for the amount of money I paid for a central location, I felt it was overpriced. Firstly the staff were rude and unfriendly apart from the doorman. Upon arrival the checking in process was poor, the staff member was sullen and unwelcoming and I had to ask questions about breakfast and facilities, literally no information was provided only a sheet of paper. There was only one lift which took ages, the room on the 7th floor was adequate but outdated and small. Breakfast was shockingly bad, I felt patronised and treated like a child. Again for the price I paid I am shocked at the use of plastic cutlery, paper plates, paper and plastic cups and signs everywhere telling us what not to do! The options were limited and repetitive, the butter for a croissant was a waste of time as the plastic fork broke when trying to spread it. The staff were also unwelcoming, unfocused and sullen, staring at us when eating, making us feel uncomfortable. They stood waiting to clean the table (no small feat as we put our own rubbish in the bin) with a wet wipe. I understand there need to be cutbacks and savings but plastic cutlery and poor service is not the way to go, I expect to be treated like an adult not a child and told what to do, surely as adults we can be trusted to use proper cutlery, not waste or take food to the rooms and have a proper mug for coffee, the waste and strain on the planet for plastic is already bad they are making it worse! hopefully this bad review will put people off…it’s not worth the money I would have rather paid more and got a better service which you’d expect for your first visit to New York, no welcome whats so ever.

The hotel was pretty clean. The staff was not very friendly or accommodating. The a/c did not work well. They said they would call a technician yet it never improved during our stay. They finally brought a fan on our last night after we complained again.

We had a quiet, clean and comfortable Queen bedroom up high and no traffic noise. Great location, close to a subway station and an easy 10 minute walk to attractions like Times Square and Empire State Building. Housekeeping was carried out every day without any issues. While the food provided for breakfast wasn't exciting, it was freshly prepared and convenient. We made use of the tea/coffee in the lobby. The only problem we had was with the iron tripping a circuit breaker, but staff responded promptly to resolve. Would happily stay here again!

ZERO STARS! Do not stay here! Rude staff, Disgustingly dirty hotel. Landlord special for sure. Ceiling falling down over the bed, duct taped windows, wallpaper pieced together. Advertised as sleeps 3 but no pull out couch. Then told to rent a roll away for $70 extra. 1 roll of toilet paper and two towels. Not handicapped accessible on second floor where breakfast is. Couldn’t get the mobility scooter there. Waited over 20 minutes for the elevator then sent down my daughter to get breakfast and she was reprimanded by a female staff member for attempting to remove food from the area. Immediately complained to Expedia and the guy at the hotel (who told me to call Expedia). No one will take accountability for this horrible stay. This hotel was the nastiest part of NYC. BEWARE! It should be torn down and decontaminated.
