Shower/bed/breakfast

Everyone at the front desk was helpful. The free continental breakfast was sufficient and a nice way to get the day started. The area of NYC was excellent and our room was very clean. Our first time staying at the hotel but we would stay there again.

The hotel is conveniently located close to all the attractions near the financial district. Since there are only 2 elevators, there is usually a wait to enter and exit. Our room was comfortable, quiet and had a wee equipped kitchen
-
Its location. In-room phone didn’t work. Neither did the Internet connection in the room. Also, housekeeping came in the last day of our stay while we were out, and in the process of refilling the shampoo bottles, broke the adhesive that kept the bottles attached to the wall. It fell on my foot when I jumped into shower. There was a random fire alarm that went off in the hotel, but no fire. Had to walk down 32 floors for a false alarm.

Exceptional

The room itself was modern, spotlessly clean and a good size for the three of us. We stayed in a Studio with two queen beds on the 27th floor. The beds and bedding were comfortable, the bathroom was clean and completely problem-free, and there was plenty of storage, including a proper wardrobe, shelves, an ironing board and a foldable luggage rack. There was also a very useful long stone-effect work surface running across much of the room, with a wheeled desk chair. The kitchenette was nicely finished and included a sink, refrigerator, microwave and coffee machine. The coffee machine was slightly confusing at first, but once we worked it out it made excellent coffee. Wi-Fi was reliable throughout our stay. Housekeeping was good and staff were generally helpful when we needed things. Extra towels and coffee were provided when requested, and when we initially thought there was a problem with the coffee machine, a replacement was brought quickly. The fifth-floor outdoor terrace was a very nice feature, particularly in such a built-up part of Manhattan, and there is also a gym adjoining it. There are two proper ice machines downstairs, and an ice bucket is provided in the room, which was another useful touch. The location is excellent. It is very convenient for the Financial District, Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty ferries, while the nearby subway connections make it easy to travel to Midtown and elsewhere in Manhattan. The biggest disappointment was the kitchenette, particularly the missing dishwasher. Our Booking.com reservation explicitly listed one, and this was not a Booking.com error: Marriott's own listing for our room type also lists a dishwasher, and the hotel's photos show one fitted in the niche that was simply empty in our room. We reported this to reception and were told a technician would be sent, but when we followed up we discovered the request had never been logged, so nobody came. We were later told the room was never intended to have a dishwasher, which was difficult to reconcile with Marriott's own specification and photos. Reception then said they might be able to move us to a room with one the next day, but this was not guaranteed and they would get back to us. Nobody did. We had also fully unpacked for a three-night stay, so waiting for a hypothetical room was hardly ideal. This was especially disappointing because we have stayed at Residence Inn Istanbul Ataşehir, where the kitchen is properly equipped for an extended stay and room problems have been dealt with immediately, including moving us straight away when necessary. The New York kitchenette was also lightly equipped for a room accommodating four adults, with only around two or three sets of some crockery and cutlery, and no obvious hob or oven. The lifts were another major frustration. There are only two, waits could approach five minutes, and they behaved unpredictably throughout our stay. On checkout day, for example, I selected the lobby from the third floor and was instead taken up to the 37th before eventually coming back down. Breakfast was inconsistent too: some mornings were good, but on another there was only one yoghurt left, no sausages and several choices had run out. The breakfast area could also be crowded.

Fabian at the front desk was super friendly with my kids so props to him for his patience. Overall the staff was great and my family enjoyed how convenient it was to get around NYC

Very good
-
location, high floor, gym and staff poor breakfast, views were good but not excellent, lobby on ground floor very small. Expensive for what we got
-
The room was clean and comfortable, in spite of an exceedingly soft bed. The view was nice and the check-in, check-out process was smooth. The kitchenette was a great plus, and the location was ok. The TV had many channels and we could watch with our streaming account. The room was very loud even on a high floor, perhaps because of the nearby roof AC systems in addition to traffic, and the room AC was also loud. That's too bad because we didn't hear the neighbors or elevators, which is often an issue in these hotels. I didn't have high expectations for the breakfast but it was really low quality, cheap industrial reheated food in paper plates. For a bagel or cereal it's fine, but next time we'll use the kitchenette. The hotel is on a narrow street and it was hard to find.

Overall stay was good and no issues. Good location as well.

In the heart of Wall Street near freedom tower and the piers. If you are going shopping and just want to sight see you should stay here

Room was clean but smelled like vomit. Asked for a different room but was told none was available. They said they cleaned it but still smelled bad. Gave me points but still an unpleasant stay.
