Great place to stay for a city break

Very pleased with my stay at The Sanctuary! Half a block from Times Square but my room was completely quiet. Fantastic rooftop. Great breakfast. Very helpful staff. I’ll be back!

Location and convenience Nothing

Even though the rooms were small, more like a boutique hotel, the location was just off of Times Square and the staff was fantastic. It was a very quiet hotel, which is helpful for someone like me who hears every little thing. All staff that we encountered were fantastic.

Location was excellent,about 75 m from Times Square. The hotel was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I didn’t like the very dark decor which in a building with hardly any windows made it difficult to see and felt unpleasant.Also the prices for every single item such as water (I know this is standard in New York)felt excessive

The hotel was in a great location, in walking distance to everything we needed to access in Times Square. The staff was extremely helpful, patient and accommodating. The even gave my daughter a little birthday gift! The hotel overall was well kept and clean! However, the room furniture did have some noticeable wear and tear. Would definitely stay again, no real issues ☺️

Amazing Location Close to Time Square . Wonderful Nice Staff. Room was Small . Housekeeping Service is a little bit slow many times I put the sign for service& it’s not done .

I think the hotel rooms we had could do with an upgrade. This was my third time in roughly 12 years staying at the Sanctuary and it hasn’t changed at all.

Exceptional

Had a very pleasant stay at The Sanctuary.

The location The doorman was rude to us and shower did not stay close and a part on the shower door fell off

Everything was perfect. The only issue was that our hotel room was the size of a sardine can!!!!!

Perfect location, and less than a block away from "the heart" of Times Square and the subway...which was great! Terrible miscommunication and delay with the check-in, which was disappointing, and we were given our room well after 3 PM. Avoid rooms near the hotel cleaning staff room, since the walls are thin and the sound of folks cleaning early in the morning can be a disturbance if you aren't a morning person (which I am, thankfully). The cleaning staff is very persistent in keeping the rooms cleaned...even when you place your "Do Not Disturb" on the door, and they called me several times on my cellphone and room phone...so getting clarification on the room cleaning requirement is a must when you check-in. I wouldn't return here in the future (due to the value of what I paid and the level of service not being enough for me to return), but if you want a great location that's convenient to Times Square... please feel free to try them out!

Property is well equipped, with food and drink options on site, which we didn't use during our stay, aside from the cold water dispenser which was free for guests. The room was clean, however it appeared slightly dated. It is quite "cosy" with limited floor space in addition to the amenities, with the shower/bathroom located within the main room. A toilet was located adjacent in it's own space with a closing sliding door. This property was adequate for a couple of days exploring New York.

The front desk was extremely helpful they stored our bags when our room wasn’t ready which allowed us to explore the city some. The sushi lab was incredible.
