Sanctuary Hotel New York

I loved everything about this hotel!!! From the staff greeting you with a good morning or have a great day when you’re entering/ leaving, to the 4 DINING OPTIONS ON THE PREMISES!!! Sushi Lab ROCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK!!!! I love the convenient location!!!!!! And I will definitely be booking here again!!!!!!!!

Older/larger people should avoid the small queen rooms. The bathroom toilet facility is tiny and borders on unusable. You need to be a gymnast to stand up. Other than that the place was great and the location was perfect within walking distance of everything.

As soon as you enter in the lobby the frontdesk people and the staff try to help you in the best way they can. They open the door for you, the help with the suitcases and they offer storage too if you need it. The lobby is super comfortable if you have to work (our case) or wait till they have ready the room (this wasn't our case tho). There room had a lot of space, it was clean and they offer housekeeping service EVERYDAY if you need it which is a plus. The shower is very pleasant to use with various modes. There is water, a basket with snacks and a minibar full of drinks (rare these days) and we used it. The bed was super comfortable and big. The thermostat was working properly and keep the room cold while we were in the city (it really was hot outside). We were very happy with our choice for our work trip and we absolutely recommend this hotel if you are thinking to stay a few days in NYC.

It was my boyfriend’s 60th birthday celebration. We had asked for decorations/ champagne/ cake to be ready in our room to surprise him. It wasn’t ready and they forgot to do it. I had purchased a bottle of red wine also and they forgot about that as well. They did eventually decorate later that night, but it wasn’t a surprise anymore. Very disappointed. The young girl at the counter we could not understand her English either. Had to keep asking her to repeat herself. A man finally intervened who we could understand. The other couple we were traveling with, they could not find their reservation, which was booked through Expedia, like ours was. She had a hard time finding ours as well. Not sure why. Not sure if Expedia screwed up or them. We eventually got a room. Other than these screw ups, the hotel is actually quite amazing. Very clean! Roof top bar is amazing!

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Sanctuary Hotel. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The room was nice and clean. The beds/pillows were super comfortable (soft)! I slept like a baby! The location is about a block away from Time Square and just steps away from the Palace Theatre (showing the Lost Boys musical). There was some occasional noise from outside that could be heard in our room but it was not the hectic noisy from Time Square. There is a Dunkin Donuts and a small bar next door, and Serendipity 3 across the street. The Haven restaurant inside the hotel was beautiful and the appetizers and drinks that we had were really good. Breakfast was just ok for me but it is worth trying since the hotel gives a $25 daily credit to use toward it. I would stay here again.

Back to my favorite place to stay in NYC. Feels like home whenever I visit the Sanctuary Hotel. Staff is amazing and most importantly they are always welcoming. Looking forward to returning again real soon.

I paid almost $200 for birthday decorations and a birthday cake only to get to my room to find it empty. Then when I spoke to the manager he told me “ they have the decorations and cake we just didn’t decorate it. “ with the price of the service I expected more, just seems unprofessional to have the necessary materials available and still not fulfill the service that was paid for.

Great location, clean, and beautiful decor. The rooftop restaurants were delicious and convenient. Really enjoyed those. Everything was better than expected except for the breakfast. Quite disappointing for the price and ran out of food. All in all would definitely stay here again, just skip the breakfast.

The staff is wonderful, very helpful and kind. The room itself is a bit shabby -- outlets did not work, shade on the window was frayed, outer shade was broken (though the staff fixed it once it was pointed out), drawer on bedside table kept opening and wouldn't stay shut. The location is perfect for midtown. Patrons should also know that the rooftop bar is a business and space is not widely open to hotel patrons who aren't dining. You can sit at the bar and have a drink, but most of the area is reserved for the business.

There are many, many off brand midtown hotels that are fine and cheap, this is one of them.

I had to pay a destination fee that wasnt disclosed during booking. I was given a $25 voucher that couldn't be redeemed the day of departure. I was told I would be upgraded and I asked if I could get a double bed I got it but it wasn't an upgraded room. The rooms were super small. Front desk not very friendly.
