The hotel has a lovely lobby. The staff as you enter the hotel were very friendly welcoming you when you came in and wishing you a good day or evening when you left. The room was spacious for New York City . We had a king with a sofa bed as there were 3 adults. The room was very warm. The temperature would not go below 65 degrees . Although the mattress was comfortable the thick quilt in the bed and warm room temperature made it difficult to sleep. Granted it was very warm in the city during our visit but we felt the room could be cooler to be more comfortable. There was a bottle filling station on our floor near our room which was nice. While we were there they had hot water issues due to something with the city but if you wanted to shower after returning after 10 pm you were not able to do that. We drove to the city and used valet parking. Called down on Sunday morning to have car brought to hotel we were told 25 minutes. We waited for about 40 minutes then went to ask about the car, we were told the car couldn’t get to the hotel because of roads closed for a parade and we would have to walk to the parking garage to get the car a block which in reality due to police barricades for parade was 5 blocks in 89 degree heat with all our luggage. If we had been told by the valet about the issue with the road closures we would have left an hour earlier rather than waiting for a car that didn’t come .Overall, had a mixed experience at the hotel.

Nice hotel

Excellent location at the heart of Manhattan, close to Times Square yet it’s off a bit at a quiet street, very convenient to many attractions. Staffs are friendly and helpful, well addressed my concerns with the noisy party close to my room. Spacious room with luxury amenities, always love to stay at Sofitel!

The location is great, the food is good. The beds are comfortable. The toilet clogged every single day, the room service is random. One day I was charged $48 for a yoghurt and soggy granola that was clearly taken out of the fridge (it was cold and soggy), next day they charged me $61 for the same thing. The facilities are limited, there is a lobby that is dark and quite impersonal. The restaurant staff is adding charges - if you add half an avocado at breakfast, they charge you.
