Smaller room but clean. Good breakfast

We immediately contacted the desk manager and asked for a room with properly working A/C who told us that all of the rooms in the hotel are jury rigged like this because the A/C system for this 3 year old building is "insufficient" and the A/C system does not work property ANYWHERE IN THE HOTEL!! We had no warning about this condition in the hotel when we checked in! We had to sleep in a room with a jury-rigged A/C that was noisy; the room was humid because of the open window, and we had to listen to trucks, horns, and sirens on the street below! When we woke up yesterday morning and prepared to check out, I couldn't even be on a phone call in the room because of the noise. I had to talk with someone out in the hall!! When we went downstairs to ask to talk with the manager, we were first told she was in a meeting and would be out in about 10 minutes. When we told the staff what it was about and that we would wait, a minute later we were told that she couldn't speak with us. She was clearly blowing us off!! We were also told she would call us later. She never did! The staff acknowledged again that the building A/C system was not functioning!! At this point we want a full refund for our room!

The location could not be better if you’re visiting NYC for Broadway shows, museums, and great restaurants. Easy 2-3 minute walk to everything you could want to see! See photo - we were maybe 500 feet from the Richard Rodgers Theatre, 3 minute walk to the Lyceum Theatre and MoMA. The room was perfect for our stay, but I would have to say the room photos are a bit deceiving as to size. Again, great view and all that we needed - but definitely not as large as the picture made it appear.

Very good location! Within walking distance to several Broadway shows —Hamilton is across the street! Rooms and spaces were clean and there were lots of choices for breakfast every morning. My only complaint is how small the rooms are. We had two double beds and there was barely space to walk around the room

Breakfast was wonderful, exceeded my expectations. Water and coffee and pastries in lobby very nice as well. Room was small, but this is NYC. Elevators didn't work most of the time we were there, luckily we were on the second floor.

Breakfast was tasty. Rooms were clean. Our stay was unfortunately a very disappointing experience, particularly because the room we received was not the room we originally reserved. This was a short, two-night trip, and the first night was especially important to us as it was my birthday. Our reservation was confirmed for two nights in a top-floor room with a city view, and we specifically chose the property with that experience in mind. Instead, upon arrival, we were placed in a room on a low floor at the back of the property with a very poor view. To have that be our experience on the night of my birthday was extremely disappointing. What made matters worse was having to pack up and move all of our belongings from one room to another during a stay that was only two nights long. Moving rooms is inconvenient under any circumstances, but on such a short trip, it took away from the limited time we had to actually enjoy our stay. After bringing our concerns to management, we were offered a $20 reimbursement for the inconvenience. While we appreciated the gesture, it did not feel proportionate to the situation or make up for the experience we had lost. The first night was the main reason for our booking, and unfortunately, that was the night we were given a room that did not match what we had reserved. When a guest makes a specific reservation and receives a confirmation for a particular room type and view, I believe it is reasonable to expect that reservation to be honored. Unfortunately, that did not happen in our case, and it significantly affected what was supposed to be a special birthday trip. Based on this experience, I don't believe we will be booking here again.
