I still love the Allen, just think some maintenance could be attempted and as always wish they had a coffee maker in the room.

Pretty dated but cheap, nice balcony

The beds were super small and mattresses super firm. Felt like I could have been laying on a box. We had issues with our AC and they were attentive but it’s an old building so it wasn’t fixed until day 4. I’m all for skipping laundry to save resources but when I did ask for fresh linen, they just made the bed and folded the towels- no fresh linen. Overall it was a great location but I wouldn’t choose to stay there again.

Clean room, nice place

All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We were able to check our bags at the desk early in the day before checkin, and then again on the day of checkout. The room was clean, and had many extra touches that were appreciated. Tea and coffee, extra toiletries. It’s a little bit dated, but we found it charming. Felt secure as a key was needed to operate the elevator. Our room had a balcony, which was great for coffee drinking in the morning. Room was surprisingly quiet at night with the blinds closed. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a short walk to the Subway station. The gym was solid for a hotel gym, very spacious and well equipped. Great accommodation for the price, we’d love to stay there again.

There was a couple of small fans that were running. That day the outside temperature was over 90+ degrees. The thermostat in the room was at 85 degrees. The clerk gave me a lame excuse the the room faced the sunny side of the building. So I went out for a few hours and returned to a room that was 91 degrees. Went back down to speak the clerk. She was a different person and didn’t know that there was issue. Unfortunately they were sold out for the night. She made contact with her manager, best they could do was to credit me back 50% back. I was with my family and this condition is unacceptable. I was lucky to find another hotel close by. So I had to check out. Other wise the room was ok. But I probably wouldn’t return to this property.

Great affordable location to stay comfortably.
-
Excellent choice when you want to stay in the city. Nearby restaurants, transportation
-
Great location. Fitness center well equipped. Staff helpful. Would definitely recommend.

What is really bad though is that they charge $150 at check-in as insurance against customer damage and then refuse to refund it and ignore messages. That's theft. Will edit my review once they do their job and refund it
