Location was good. Roof top ‘terrace’ has great views, but could be made much more. As a family of 4, with two queen beds, the room was VERY small and claustrophobic. We were barely in the room as always out exploring, but at the same time, we couldn’t have stayed in the room for long given the size.

I liked that we had a king sized bed and that it was a short walk to the hotel from the subway. Our room was 80 degrees at 9:30 at night, despite the fact that we had set the thermostat to 65 at 5 pm that day. I tried to call down to the front desk, but the phone didn't work. I went down to the front desk and they said they were fully booked so they couldn't switch my room, but they would get me a fan. After waiting for almost 15 minutes he came back and said, sorry, couldn't find you a fan. So that was that. They could or would do nothing about it. Next morning I was in the middle of a shower when I realized the body soap container was COMPLETELY empty. The attention to detail or lack thereof is what will ensure I do not return.

The location is close to the subway that runs north on Manhattan and provides access to Yankee Stadium, Times Square, and Central Park. The rooms are small, but most have balconies.

Large room with balcony. Coffee bar area and frig. TV in sitting room area and bedroom. Nice extra amenities in bathroom. Nice towels and slippers. Comfortable bed. Good AC, it was hot outside. Price was good for 3 nights. Not too far from subway, bars, restaurants. Staff was helpful. Coffee maker was broken, you had to hold down the top to make it work. No sugar, just sweet-n-low, no creamer and not enough coffee for our stay. Bathroom sink faucet was too high and water went all over counter. Super LOUD location! Sirens, honking, music etc.

Room was nice Noise above my head all night

It was clean and very well situated. Staff were friendly and helpful but unobtrusive Nothing really. The description of the property was fine and we know what we are getting in the Lower East Side which is a wonderful area

We LOVE the Allen, it’s the only place we stay when coming to the city. It’s so clean, decent sized for a New York hotel room. The staff is so nice, and the balconies are such a rarity in the city. On this particular stay, the AC in our room was not working. We had a staff come in and confirm it was malfunctioning and said she would call with next steps. She did indeed call in a timely manner and as there were no other rooms available we were offered some sort of refund…. Which a month later we have yet to receive. I have emailed the property twice about this with no response. We have another stay booked in a few weeks at the Allen, and it’s really frustrating that we have not been communicated with or received our refund after so many weeks.

The staff were great. The rooms were clean and quiet. Perfect location.

The staff was very nice and accommodating, they let us check in early and were very pleasant and efficient. The location of the hotel was great, easy walk to Soho, Brooklyn and Williamsburg bridges, and great restaurants. The room itself was fine; clean and tidy but nothing exceptional. The gym was awful, steam room not functioning, ladies locker/bathroom was locked, and the one machine I touched was not working and the cable looked broken.

It was lovely and comfortable. Very clean and everyone was nice. Good location and good pizza across the street They came in my room even though they said they wouldn't and I did not ask them to. They turned the electric off when they did this and spoiled about 1200 dollars worth of medication.. They should have told me they were going to do this.. other than that everything was perfect.. Now I'm going you have to skip a dose of medication.

We had a beautiful room that was well appointed and very clean.

Comfy beds, great location, kind helpful and attentive staff, loved the aesthetic of the place and the balcony. Close to subway lines and walking distance to East Village and other areas of interest. The gym area looked great- though I didn’t end up using it. No microwave in room, but there was one we could access downstairs. Lots of hot water for showers- we (three of us) took showers in a row and did not run out out of hot water! Would definitely stay here again!!!! Could use fuller pillows. Wasn’t able to locate a fan in the bathroom and it looked like there was a little bit of mold forming high up on the wall of the shower, to the right.

Staff was pleasant and it was close to the subway stop. Size of the room, old furniture, hard mattress, terrible pillows, cleanliness and appearance of the hotel, location The value is terrible. Complete waste of money. I would not recommend it what so ever. Extremely uncomfortable in a very dirty, smelly, and funky part of town in NYC lower East side. It is basically in Chinatown. It is 20 minutes walk to SoHo and Greenwhich. It is not a pleasant walk. During the week night, it is dead. It seems unsafe. On the weekend, there are bars and restaurants that makes the place somewhat lively. The room( double bed) extremely small with second hand looking outdated furniture. I can’t believe they would have the audacity to charge $300 for a night in this place. Shame
