The Merchant Hotel Lower East Side

I spent tons of time researching hotels before I booked Merchant LES for our first trip to NYC. My research paid off. The hotel was perfect for our trip - location, room size, view - it was exactly what we wanted!

The stay was nice but when i checked out they didn’t refund my security deposit till now, so make sure after you check out to receive the refund massage for your bank.

They had a problem getting our check in to issue a key. The coffee maker did not work properly or there should have been instructions. The amenities I. The shower were hard to pump maybe individual shampoo and conditioner and soap would be better. The property is overall very nice and located nicely for the lower east side. We would stay again but this is just feedback for the team.

Lovely hotel

The tech set up was strange. No where to sit. No directions on accessing the internet or lights in the room. No phone. No clock. The only lights in the room were surgically bright. I don’t like having to remember to carry my phone to get into the room

Great location close to so many restaurants and coffee! The property was excellent! Its not something I didnt like but I would have preferred if the restroom door closed instead of sliding,

Good hotel, good location. I didn't love that they don't give you a physical key so you need to always use a link to open your door. In theory, it sounds convenient, but finding a link, going to your digital key, and then waiting the 30 seconds for the bluetooth to connect to the door to unlock it is tedious and seriously annoying.

A small, quiet hotel that is is a great base. My room was spacious (for NYC hotels lol), contemporary, good natural light, clean. Each person at the lobby desk was friendly and helpful. This was my 2nd time staying at this hotel; I had a balcony room the 1st time which was very nice, and this time I selected a deluxe king room which was also a great choice.

I booked a city view room and I got a lower room (3rd floor) which not only has NO view. I see the streets and worst I hear it too! The roof top was closed til 5p seating is very limited! I requested ice and front desk said she will take it to my room... it never came! Lobby was impressive at all! subway was a bit of a walk. I will NOT come back here again,

Honestly a great stay. I got in early morning, and the front desk person was able to help me check in much earlier than I expected which was very appreciated. Standard sized room and bedding was great. Slept very well.

Loved the floor to ceiling windows, very cool light fixtures, comfortable bed and pillows and nice, hot shower. Loved having the kettle, most hotels in NY don’t even provide a coffee maker let alone a kettle. It’s close to the Delancey street subway station. Nice rooftop bar for cocktails or snacks.

The hotel was clean but needs some work with upkeep. We rented a room with a balcony and had a lot of trouble opening and closing the door. The Roku TV never did connect to the internet so it was useless.

Property was clean, modern and staff were wonderful. Great location and wonderful view of the city.

Amazing location, clean and spacious rooms. Plus the rooftop is nice and easily accessible.

Disgusting - booger on wall, contact on sink, urine on toilet seat, big stain on desk, really really bad

We loved the location--lots nearby for food and shopping. There is a really good coffee shop in the lobby and a good restaurant which was so convenient. The room was very small especially for $400 a night. Our room was hard to get cool. And communication downstairs was not great. We could send a text, but we couldn't reach anyone on the phone and it took a while to get a text back.
