Amazing staff. Best ever. Very old mattress that sagged in the middle a lot, so we both rolled together into the middle in the night.

The Beekman was very convenient for our week of stay in NYC. The amenities were perfect for working remotely. The kitchen was just right. The laundry was a pleasant surprise.

The location is very convenient for exploring Manhattan. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a separate living room and bedroom, which we really appreciated. The terrace with a view toward the river was another nice feature. The hotel also accepts Amazon deliveries, which was very convenient during our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, we felt the hotel offered very good value for money, especially considering the location and the amount of space. Housekeeping was somewhat inconsistent, and during our week-long stay the room could have been cleaned more thoroughly. To be fair, we sometimes kept the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door for part of the day, so this may have contributed to it. The kitchen equipment could also be improved: the knives were very blunt, and the glass cutting board, while probably hygienic, was quite uncomfortable to use. The air conditioning units in both the bedroom and the living room were very noisy. This wasn’t a major problem for us because we sleep with earplugs, but for light sleepers the noise could be quite disturbing.

the staff, two men on reception were really kind it felt dark and dingy, i was alone and didn't feel safe - a staff member told me he'd been working there 4 years and didn't even know the room I was in existed - it felt like it hadn't been cleaned very well, and I had to go and ask them to plug the lights in when I arrived late at night because none were working. overall not a comfortable stay for a solo woman

This is a terrible hotel , bugs, no house cleaning, no heat, no easy telephone, cell connection.. the worst

However, the property appears to be showing some signs of age and could benefit from some maintenance and updates. In our unit, we noticed several details that affected our overall experience, including areas where the paint was worn or damaged, a bathtub where the water flow was not ideal and did not drain properly, leaving water accumulated on the floor, as well as some broken lamps. The bathroom glass also had some black stains, and the vanity cabinet was damaged. Overall, while the photos present the property very nicely, we found that the actual condition of the unit was somewhat different from what we expected based on the pictures. With some renovations and attention to these details, the hotel could be a much more enjoyable experience. Perhaps the very reasonable price reflects some of these conditions, but we hope the management considers making some improvements, as the location and friendly staff are definitely positive aspects of the property.

Fabulous location. Easy to get to. Old-fashioned furniture and decor. Poor Gym. Outrageously loud a/c in the Apartment.

The staff were vey friendly The location was good for us The rooftop bar was a great spot The gym is a good asset Nice to have the complimentary laundry facilities Our first room was a good size - although the layout needs re-thinking - but there were several technical issues which meant that we had to move to another much smaller room than what we had booked and paid for. This more compact room was also at ground level making it (a) very public as staff were then immediately outside our bedroom window so we were unable to have the blinds open with any degree of privacy and (b) extremely dark so we had to have the lights on all the time :( The room was also noisy (maybe due to the aircon units directly outside). The fact that daily housekeeping is not included was very disappointing and should be made clear in the description as it would have affected our booking decision.

Fantastic room, very well presented with views over east river. Great location, 15 mins walk from Grand Central meant easy access to everything. Kitchen workspace a little limited but not and issue.

The location is very good and easy to get to other places in New York. It also has many restaurants, cafes, grocery stores nearby. The room is also big enough, kitchen okay, and we got room with sofa which very nice. Housekeeping is only done after 10 days (previously informed every 7 days) and only after we requested several times But that ia not really a problem because I can get supply of fresh towel, toilet paper easily. The big problem is the wifi connection is really really very bad. I can't get TV working because wifi is very slow and also mobile phone connection can not rely on wifi.

I liked the 1 bedroom that I was in as it had lots of windows and was very well laid out. This was my second time at the Beekman and so I was also appreciative of the staff at the Front Desk who were kind enough to hold onto to one of my bags between my stays which was very helpful for me. Finally when I first stayed there I was worried about making my way around the city as the hotel is on 49th and 1st but I found that the subway was a 10 minute walk and within 20-30 mins I could be in Greenwich Village so it was very convenient. The WiFi on my first visit to the Beekman (August 6-20) would decrease in effectiveness in the evenings for some reason. However on my second visit it was much better.

The front desk staff were friendly and extremely helpful. I was really appreciative of this. I had a studio and that was comfortable and had everything I needed. I also was appreciative of the washer/dryers in the building. Also the ladies who perform housekeeping were really friendly and efficient. The Wifi, particularly in the evenings was really subpar. I am not sure what was happening but every evening it seemed to just fluctuate so much that it was not worth using. I utilised my own broadband via a hotspot. My room was long and narrow and had only one window which made it quite dark.

The staff was very helpful with us, because my husband had to be hospitalized for three days, starting on the day we were to check out of the hotel. They helped us stay in the same room for the remaining three days. We really appreciate their help.
