This is a beautiful hotel with modern amenities and very comfortable beds, however, there were a few problems that were hard to comprehend. One elevator was out of service, so it was EXTREMELY difficult to get up from, and down to the lobby!!! Service elevators were made available to the guests, but during the day the staff had exclusive use to them. In this entire huge hotel, there is only one ice machine available on the lobby level in the business center, REDICULOSE!!!!!!! Two of the three days of my stay, it was out of order!

Central Park'a yürüyerek 10 dakika.

Nice size room and bathroom. Only one ice machine in the hotel that was broken. Had to go down to lobby fir a cup if coffee in the morning. No coffee machine in room. No sheer curtains on windows , just light blocking ones. Housekeeping did not give us new cups the next day. Ran out of tissues in bathroom. No luggage rack to use for us to get our luggage up or down to our room.

Nice, old hotel. Most staff do their best, but like most of aging New York, things break down from time to time, esp. elevators. And they are tiny, so if you are on the 8th floor, best to ride to the top floor then come down. The APA hotels in Japan are famous for this - just a fact to deal with. I was there almost 2 weeks and there was one doorman who was constantly pissed off about something - no smile, no greeting. Looked like he wished you’d go home. But others, especially the cleaning staff, were quite kind. And their laundry was cheap and worked great. If they ever fix the other main elevator, I’d book again in a heartbeat - location is super.

I have never stayed at a hotel with such awful quality and service. Out of our three-day stay, we spent two full days changing rooms because the air conditioning was broken. The AC failed in both of the rooms I booked for my family. While management did eventually move us, it begs the question: why are they assigning rooms to guests when the units clearly haven't been serviced or replaced in years? Having the AC stop working during a weekend with 100°F weather was miserable. That wasn't all. When I requested a soap refill, they failed to provide it. Instead, they sent a staff member up just to verify whether the dispenser was completely empty. I practically had to argue with them just to get soap for both rooms. To make matters worse, on the day we checked in, the front desk agent actually shushed me, rudely telling my family and me to be quiet while he took a phone call. On top of the terrible service, we found bugs in the room near the microwave and refrigerator. The property is extremely old, and while they have attempted some renovations, the work feels completely half-hearted and unfinished. If you want a pleasant experience in NYC, do not book this hotel.

Location Ran out of ice

It was very close to city center. The contracted parking area is far and also very expensive.
-
Convenient, comfortable, quiet (even packed with World Cup fans!). Very helpful staff. Overall a very nice stay, would definitely come back.

One elevator was broken, and the floor indicator on the one next to it was broken, and elevators were small and overused so it made a difference. Doormen didn't smile - one wouldn't even look you in the eye - would have been better if they weren't there.

good location in theater district. close to public transportation

Nice hotel, I chose it for the price and the fact that it is 18+ not 21+. Decent room with nice view, the only thing is the shower looked old (the knobs) and I could not figure how to turn on the hot water. Called the front desk and got a very helpful repairman to come and show me how to turn it on. He was very respectful in the room too, especially for young female travelers like me and my friend.

Just great Everything other than the lift took long

The location is perfect! It was super easy to hop on the subway to get where we needed to quick and easy. I am an amputee and the room was super easy to get around in, bathroom had a shower with a bench! A unicorn for sure! Staff was very kind and helpful.
