Felt very New York! Friendly staff, clean and simple.

The location of the Hotel is the showstopper. Right behind the Empire state building and if you are lucky, can see it from the window. Taxi or public transport, restaurants, and shopping malls are nearby, within walking. They provided breakfast vouchers for a backery in front, which is very good. Room was spacious, with a big bed and clean bathroom. Rooms can be cleaned when requested.

It was very dusty, i had allergies everyday

The entrance and lobby decoration were very nice and elegant. The location of the hotel was also convenient for visiting New York City. Very disappointing experience. The carpets in the room and corridors were old and had a bad smell. We informed the staff that I have allergies, especially to old carpets that are not properly cleaned. We asked several times for proper cleaning, but although they said they would do it, nothing really changed. I had to sleep with a face mask because of the smell and my allergy. The corridors on the floors also smelled bad because of the carpets. We could not stay comfortably and decided to leave one night earlier because it became impossible for us. The breakfast was also disappointing. You pay for breakfast at the hotel, but they send you to a fast-food place in front of the hotel with very limited options. It was definitely not worth including breakfast in the booking.

Location. Maybe the bed - clean sheets and somewhat comfy. Humid dirty floor carpets, everywhere. The Gym is super tiny, humid and smelly. Only 2 people fit at the same time. Bathroom has no ventilation. The sink got blocked every time. Receptionist (Melody?) was rude at check in - i guess that’s only the New Yorker way (?).

Good hotel in a great location. The rooms were comfortable, although the beds were quite small. One thing to be cautious about is additional charges. We were charged a $500 smoking fee even though we were travelling with our children and no one smoked in the room. We believe my hairdryer may have triggered the sensor. There was no other evidence of smoking, and thankfully, after disputing the charge, we were able to have it reversed.

Unbeatable location, near to everything and easy to get around. Staff does their best but still lacks of ownership to solve problems. Housekeeping is the best and is always friendly. Stayed 9 nights and if budget allows I’d go across the street to the Kixby or The Evelyn
