Kixby

Walking distance to Empire State, Times Square, Penn Station, MOMA etc. Ideal for a city stay. A good burger bar for a late bite. Building work further along the street but staff were able to accommodate us in quieter room.

The property is stylish and well located. The staff wasn’t very friendly. The young guy that checked us in, Jean-P?, was polite enough. Told us to be back at 1pm for early check in. At 1pm the other front desk guy said no way we could get into the room before 3. Ummm, yeah. You guys could talk to one another before you offer a room. The day before we checked out we got a text that the hotel would have no hot water from 10:30-12:30. We had a tour in Brooklyn, scheduled at 8, expected to return at 10:30 to pack up and shower. Asked for a late check out and was offered a half day rate of 200$ if I wanted a late check out. Wow, okay… just say no. I cancelled our tour so we could pack and get out before 11. I mentioned the tv never worked and the agent said try the TV button on remote. Interesting. I never thought of that!! We did. It still didn’t work. The level of annoyance displayed by front desk was quite astonishing. The ‘hospitality’ was missing. Clearly they are better suited to work in some other industry that requires less hospitable personalities. The saving grace at the Kixby is José. He was kind and patient. Offered to help. Genuinely seemed to like people and maybe even his job. He literally made the stay pleasant. Give that guy a raise and a bonus. Have him do the training for the other folks. He understands hospitality and shows it. Gracias!

Staff is extraordinary. Room and amenities are super. Problem only is breakfast and restaurant associated with the hotel--very mediocre.

Location OK. There was considerable street noise coming from outside, especially during the night, which made it difficult to sleep and affected the overall comfort of our stay. For a hotel in New York, some street noise is understandable, but the sound insulation in the room was simply not sufficient. Better soundproofing would significantly improve the guest experience.

Service was ok - asked to have our room cleaned before 3 p.m. and it never happened. Hotel is ok for the price, but could use a refresh to make the lobby more appealing. The staff was very nice and we felt very safe in the hotel. Would stay there again if there are some upgrades, but otherwise a great hotel near MSG for concert.

All were good ...cleanliness, etc Our room was on the street side - very noise til 4.00am in the morning due to construction across the road. Could not believe building works could go til 4.00am !! Very little sleep. Just some sort of small gift / compensation from the hotel would have gone a long way !

Proximity. Close to the subway and major tourist location. The 3 shower heads was great Bathroom tight

Beautiful boutique hotel. Perfect location. The staff was wonderful and we felt like we got to know them during our three nights day because they were always there at the front desk ready to help. The room was spacious and beautiful. Excellent day would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

It is a bit pricey, but better than other hotels I have stayed at.

The building is older. The elevators are weird but you’ll figure it out lol. They have stairs if you’re willing. Second floor amenities has a business room with free coffee (it’s really good) and other bevy’s and I’m sure some type of food snacks (? Don’t remember). They give you free bottle upon check-in as a green incentive so that’s very nice. Lots of things nearby walking distance. Very safe. Food right next to the hotel? The chain beer tap place is not bad but the Korean food is eeehhhh… lots to do within 5-15 mins walking distance so try to venture out of your hotel lobby stuff. That said, their rooftop bed area has a view of the Empire State Bldg.. check it out one night, why not? Stumble back to your room afterward. Room was nice and clean and comfortable and all of that good stuff. I’d stay again!

The kixby hotel is in a great location and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfy and huge. We stayed in a room over looking the Main Street and found it quite noisy, But overall a good location to see all of NYC
