No amenities and hotel needs updating, everything is old.Staff was great! Walking distance to a couple different restaurants.

Clean room, great safe location. Nice size room!

Bare minimum was provided, sometimes less, room had a used condom in it that we saw moments upon checking in. Weird persistent odour in the rooms + grimey markings throughout made us question the cleanliness of the room. Good location and helpful staff if you wanna stay down town and aren’t picky about where you lay your head at night.

Details: I would stay here again because the price was good, the room was spacious and appeared clean. The photos are a little misleading when it comes to the view, as I couldn’t find anything resembling the view pictured while I was there. Some of the staff were extremely warm and friendly and some not so much. The room didn’t have a mini refrigerator, which isn’t a big deal and is somewhat common in NYC, but the ice machines on most floors didn’t work and there was no plastic bag in the ice bucket. One important note: It could take 10–15 minutes to get an elevator around check-in and checkout times. There is something really weird about the elevators. Multiple times I was waiting with 10+ people for an elevator going down, only for one to arrive and then go up. One time about eight of us got on anyway and ended up joking about it together. I wasn’t in a rush, so it wasn’t a huge issue for me and I’d deal with it again to save some money. But if you’re claustrophobic or need to be somewhere at a specific time, just be warned.

The Washington is a hotel in the downtown area. Dont expect anything extravagant. If you want a clean room, a hot shower with great water pressure, and a comfortable space. This is the hotel for you.

I recently stayed at the Washington and upon arrival, the staff was kind and helpful. The first room I was put in, smelled like cigarettes and air freshener, plus it was tiny. I immediately went to the front desk and they switched me with no problem. The second room was much better. The rooms are fairly clean. I didn't like that the hotel did not have a microwave. I would suggest having a microwave everyone can use on the main floor. I am not even sure if there was a fridge or not. Also, I had left for an event and when I got back, I noticed that my hot comb was in the trash, my toilet seat was up as if a man used it and my shower door was wide open. I immediately called the front desk and asked for the log of who was in the room. Security came to the room to check the swipe for the door minutes later. He told me that housekeeping came to the room and I found that interesting because if housekeeping came in, why did they NOT clean the room? Security told me to check if anything is missing and at first I thought nothing was missing, but my new earpods are missing and when I go on the "Find my iphone" app, it shows that my earpods are in fact at the hotel. Of course by the time I checked, I was already on my way home. Moral of the story is guests should feel safe and that their things are safe while staying at a hotel.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is excellent.

Everything was Perfect

The location was great and the hotel was pretty clean. It was a little outdated but it was fine. It is not a typical hotel with a formal front desk. They were all in jeans and t-shirts with baseball hats and music playing. They were all eating lunch at the desk. They were very polite and helpful though. I was first sent to a room that was out of order. It was just painted and not ready for guests. When I went back downstairs, there were no other rooms ready. They took my luggage and when I came back 20 minutes later to add a bag, the room was ready and my luggage was in the room. I would stay again because it was convenient and clean and safe.

We were lured in by the photos displayed on the websites that advertised this property. There is NO bar NO in room dining NO restaurant or eatery. The photos are a gross overstatement of what this hotel actually is. We had a corner king room which was the only upside for our stay. Other than sleeping this hotel really does not offer any other reasons to stay in. Luggage is stored after you check out for $2 per bag!!!! Location convenient to subways.

great location, nice obs deck on the 5th floor, however rooms need deeper cleaning, had to request a new eoom right away due to hairS on the bed. second room a little better but very dusty in many spots especially by windows and under the bed

The carpet is dirty, bathroom has mold. No toiletries. Overall dingy hotel. No for NYC standards. The advertise a roof top… well THE IS NOT ROOFTOP.

Staff was helpful and hotel was perfect!
