Thompson Central Park New York, by Hyatt
About Thompson Central Park New York, by Hyatt
A New York Classic, Remastered. The property offers a combination of suites and rooms with varying views and low floor options. Designed to accommodate work and play, our rooms have been upgraded with refined finishes — warm woods, sleek marble, jewel-toned pops — and unexpected touches, like sculptural ombré lighting, ribbed wall detailing and an inventive geometric étagére. And starting in early 2022, our guests can also expect an elevated New York experience from our Upper Stories collection of rooms and suites perched on our topmost guest floors. Thompson Central Park New York is within 1640 feet of Carnegie Hall, the Museum of Modern Art, Central Park entrance and Radio City Music Hall. Just off the lobby, you’ll find Chef Manish Mehrotra’s signature restaurant, the inventive Indian Accent, which has consistently ranked high in Zagat, Time Out and Eater. And for a quick bite, our incognito Burger Joint outpost has long been a beloved best-kept secret.

Otherwise the stay was great

Great location , clean , modern and great staff.

The location is excellent and was the main reason I chose the hotel. The staff was courteous, and I appreciated that they said they would send someone to address the issues I reported. Excellent location within walking distance of Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Broadway. Unfortunately, for the price I paid, the overall value was disappointing. At a similar nightly rate, I could have stayed at iconic luxury properties such as The Pierre, and I expected a much higher standard. The biggest issue was the shower. The diverter never fully switched from the bathtub faucet to the overhead rain shower, so water continued pouring into the bathtub while I showered. As a result, the tub gradually filled with water, and I found myself standing in a puddle of soapy water. I reported this during my stay and was told it would be repaired, but the problem remained until I checked out. I also found hair in the bathroom upon arrival, which immediately affected my confidence in the room's cleanliness. The bathroom itself feels quite dated. The high bathtub with a shower instead of a modern walk-in shower was inconvenient, and there are no grab bars or secure handholds when stepping out. Although I am fit and active, I nearly slipped getting out of the tub. I would be genuinely concerned about the safety of older guests, as this seems like an avoidable liability risk. Overall, the hotel has an excellent location and good potential, but the room did not match the premium price charged. I left feeling that I had paid luxury hotel rates without receiving a luxury hotel experience. I hope management will take this feedback seriously, as I would like to return in the future if these issues are addressed. Given that I reported the maintenance problem during my stay and it was not resolved before my departure, I would appreciate a goodwill gesture or loyalty points to acknowledge the inconvenience. Worst customer service ever. The most simplest thing of obtaining an invoice is still not resolved

Destiny was amazing

Additionally, considering the room rate, I was surprised that basic complimentary amenities such as a toothbrush and toothpaste were not provided.

Great stay
-
Charged me twice and was not very accommodating Requesting room service multiple times and not getting what I requested
-
A perfect location, walking distance to the Broadway theaters without having to stay in the Times Square area and it's very close to Central Park, Rockefeller Center, City Center, MOMA, shopping, restaurants, etc with easy access to subways. Two parking garages right next door. The Studio Suite King was large and modern. The bed was super comfortable with crisp Sferra sheets. Justin at the front desk was amazing. He helped with a special request and was pleasant and very attentive from the moment we arrived to when we checked out. A++ for Justin. He really helped to make our stay a success.

All night we could hear the high pitched noise of the elevator zooming up and down .
